UK FREEVIEW TV Tuner will work in Singapore?

will a UK freeview tv tuner work in singapore? or is singapore using analogue tv signal?

I doubt it very much.
The cable TV system we have here has decoder units with chip cards.
There used to be some "taiwan" decoder units around but they've long since stopped working as the cable company stepped up it's encryption levels.

There's a couple of ether/analog local channels free on the cable but thats it.

Fraid your just going to have to join the herd and subscribe :D

i dont mean cable TV. i mean TV channels you get on aerial.

Some of the free to air channels do broadcast over digital, but not sure if you'll be able to pick them up on your UK box. They are:

> Channel 5 SD
> Channel 5 HD
> Channel 8 (Chinese)
> Channel News Asia
> TV Mobile (shown on SBS Buses)

There's nothing like the extra digital channels that exist in the UK. For anything above standard analogue TV offerings you'll need to subscribe to Starhub cable tv.

Even if it did work, might not be worth bringing it. Not sure of future digital broadcasting plans for Singapore.
