No Sopranos available in Singapore...

Postby Superglide » Thu, 20 Sep 2007 10:52 am

Went to the HMV store on Orchard to buy the DVD sets of the series. "Dun have lah, banned in Singapore"...

What's new I mumble and thank them for the effort to inform me on this.

No sweat, because I always buy online from HMV.co.uk if not available in Singapore.

Then, coincedence or not, I get the newsletter from hmv.co.uk, saying there is a competition and promotion for the Sopranos series DVD sets.

Awesome I think to myself...

So I click on the button for the promotion, new site pops up, a minisite dedicated to The Sopranos.

YES!!!

The the following pops up:

Thanks for trying to access the digitalInsert for Season 6 Part 1 - The Sopranos.

Unfortunately it is not available to residents of Singapore.

If you are in fact not from this country, please contact us to let us know which you are from so that we can investigate this further.

So what do I do now, email them and explain I am living in Singapore, but I am not a SIngaporean, so no harm sending me the DVD sets, since I can handle realistic violence?

Should I obey and be merry with the sh*t and pulp being broadcasted here on cable TV?

This country boring? Man, this country sucks.

Big time! :x

Or if you know someone in the UK who'll be making a trip over to Singapore soon, get them to buy it and bring it with them!

Will the Saint also bring me some of those heavenly home-made flapjacks?

Not sure how this is related to the topic but er, I'll sing for you if you do, and I'm a soprano. :D

Do be careful when you're bringing them DVDs in Saint.

Recently, I had some and was stopped by the airport customs. Had to send them to the Censorship board and had to even pay a fee for their stamp of approval.

Rarely happens but it's twice so far

and one of em was the complete Sopranos set.

The recent one was 30rock.

The last 3 months I've brought in about a dozen TV series for friends. No problem....yet. [-o<
