Just your own personal feeling then. Because each and every one of us have gone through singlehood and relationships, why is it wrong to talk about the pros of being single and it's okay to repetitively gush about being in love?tingal79 wrote:why do I have this feeling that this thread is for sour grapes?

yea of cuz! being single really carries no commitment cuz you dun have a care in the world and you can be friends with anybody.birkin wrote:Being single is GREAT if you are the independent sort. (enjoying it very much at the moment)
But when you've met the right person, everything changes
That doesn't change when im attached as well. Used to be flings before we got together but we still have our own private lives and yet loves to be loved by each other =)
1. You can make last-minute plans with your friends and stay out all night if you want. <--- she is always bugging me to go out more w de boys
2. You can lie on both sides of your bed and have all the covers to yourself. <--- this one bo bian
3. You can flirt with the opposite sex without someone saying, " Who are you looking at? " <-- she's de first to point out pretty babes
4. You can make your own decisions. <-- she doesnt care
5. You don't have to remember your significant other's birthday or anniversary. <-- this she minds tho
6. You have no one to clean up after. <--- this too
7. You can leave the toilet seat permanently up if you're a man, or permanently down if you're a woman. <--- doesnt matter
8. You can make a list of things you always wanted to do...and actually do them. <--- single or not
9. You can listen to your favorite radio station in the car. <--- shares de same station
10. You can actually hold on to the remote control. <--- she doesnt care
She gives me all of the space in the world, bugs me to go out late w my guy frens blabla BUT i want the total opposite, i wish i could spend more time w her. & she always calls me weird :/

And, you do not have to face a snoring partner with saliva dripping down his / her cheeks when you wake up in the morning.

talking about being single doesn't necessarily mean that you are sour graping. it's just that you're enjoying the life unattached to someone. you're just having the time of your life to be alone and explore other things that you couldn't have done while you were in a relationship.tingal79 wrote:why do I have this feeling that this thread is for sour grapes?
sometimes there are others who are not yet ready to commit themselves to someone.

Generally, it just means that the person is so obnoxious that they cannot find a partner but will die defending the right to be "single" as a foil against the obvious.

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers

Re: :(
See now I feel that way sometimes, it is hard for me to click with a gal coz umm I apparently have this girl brain part that turns on sometimes haha because I hang with my gal-pals alot lol....kinda takes time to get used to hehelilSara wrote::S sad... don't wanna be single anyway
But it is alright, I enjoy just making gals happy, with poems of friendship and care and maybe a flower or two just to make their day

When the right person comes along, all I ask hehe is for her to let me adore her and cook for her lol...that is all, hehe im simple

i think it all boils down to the person you're with before you can compare the merits and cons of being single or attached.
if the person gives you space and respect, you've got the best of both worlds.
generally im of the mindset that being taken is way better. no more dating, uncertainties, etc. you have this best friend for you to turn to for everything.
but to me one thing better about being single is the ability to go do what you want without having to consider someone else's feelings. like running off for some 2 week adventure holiday. it sometimes seems like if you're attached, you're suddenly deemed unable to take care of yourself anymore, even if you were perfectly able before.
my bf is of the opinion that im too precious and wont be able to take dirt or manual labour. like i shouldnt dirty my hands pumping petrol in case i touch my face. or even that i shouldnt do weights. i do love having someone take care of me and do convert into dependency mode but i'm not thattttt fragile.
