Medicinal chemistry - R&D pharma job in Singapore?

Post by Aga » Sat, 15 Sep 2007 2:18 am

Hello,

An experienced medicinal chemist (PhD, PostDoc - Harvard) with many years of experience in a large US pharma company is looking for information about current R&D pharma environment in Singapore. We (my above mentioned husband and myself) would like to relocate to Singapore with hopes of landing a medicinal chemistry job (project leader level). It is hard to know what yearly salary to expect. All other information is easily accessible (housing, etc). It is also hard to know where to look for such a job. If anyone is in the field, and could offer ANY information, please contact me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Googling {pharmaceuticals +Singapore +jobs} seemed to turn up some info and maybe a good place to start. Not that familiar with the Pharm/Bio industries myself but an additional search of {biopolis +Singapore} turned up another load of info.

I'm a headhunter specifically within the life science industry. PM me and I'll be happy to discuss opportunities with you.

I'm curious as to what the new industrial salaries are like myself. I'm currently working for a local research institute, and the pay is woefully inadequate considering my level of expertise. I'm a synthetic organic chemist with a lot of experience in medicinal chemistry. I would be grateful for any information on salaries/job offers. I have 4 years of research experience after my PhD, and have been the principal scientist in charge of 4 different medicinal chemistry projects. Lately I've been offered some sizeable research grants, but in view of the miserable salary and lack of support I'd be happy to move to a new company.
