Hi guys,
Writing this question to you on behalf of my wife who'll be moving with me to Singapore in January 08. She has been offered a position as either Assistant Purchaser or Purchaser with the same company as I'll be working for. However my wife will be hired on 'local' terms so she would like to know in what range her salary will be in?
We're located in Europe and she currently gets around 6500 SGD a month as a Assistant Purchaser. How far do you think the local salary will be from that?

We currently pay in the high 50's, % in tax, so when you consider app. 10% tax in Singapore, the difference actually ain't that big
European Base salary = 6500 SG$ - tax (58%) 3770 SG$ = 2730 SG$
Base salary (50% of above) = 3250 SG$ - tax (10%) 325 SG$ = 2925 SG$
Base salary (35% of above) = 2275 SG$ - tax (10%) 228 = 2047 SG$
So basically if my wife can get between 2500-3000 SGD she'll be making the same as here.
The reason we need to know is because I have a clause in my contract, which gives me +10'000 SG$ every year if my wife doesn't work. A spouse fee you could call it. I think we'll be happy with app. 40% of the 6500 SGD....
