Toilet Conversion

Post by Spooner » Thu, 30 Aug 2007 5:26 pm

We have a small room attached to our Kitchen that has an open floor level toilet. I would like to convert this into a conventional western style sit down toilet. Does anyone know if this can be done simply, or will it be a matter of digging out the existing toilet and getting a plumber to install a new toilet? I've got no idea of the costs for such a project like this - can someone please guide me?

we replaced one of our toilets before we moved in... no problem at all. found a plumber supplying bathroom fixtures at the classifieds in the straits times. went to the shop, paid about $275 (incl. matching sink and a shelf), arranged a date, and that's it.

plumber came, removed old toilet, installed new one, disposed of the old one.

no sweat.

You can generally just get a toilet to fit over the squatter. One bathroom in my house is done this way... squatter filled in, toilet placed on top... no need to rip existing squatter out... just run grease pipe into squatter.

Toilet Conversion

We are moving to a landed house and one of the baths have a squat toilet. We want to convert it to a sit toilet. Anyone who can help us provide contact details for cheap plumber (budget around $250) to do the conversion, would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
