wow seh very strict leh,
shortlisted, ask pple all the way there ...travelling time + effort...then juz measure the height even touched the tape also not allow thru? How heartbreaking is tat..
precisely... !!
At first, I tot shortlisted meaning lesser waiting time as compared to walk-in recruitment since they have already screened the applicants.
Wonder did anyone from the forum made it thru.

seriously, I am in doubt if they even monitor abt the ban thingy?
I mean there are hundreds of application forms whenever there is an opening.
That wld require alot of man power to keep track and verify against the database of those banned applicants.
I don't think they have the time to refers back the past application form? That wld be alot of admin work to do and too time consuming....
Unless they have computerised these data and can similiar did a search query? Else who is so free to go dig history...correct me if i am wru hahaha

yeah this time quite strict

and it doesn't help that the height apparatus takes 2cm off your actual height..

so for people who hover around 156-158...we're all goners..

the lady asked me to reach for the tape quite a few times..cos she thought i was standing near the wall when in actual fact i was standing behind the tape..

and lucky for those who got through because this time no water confidence..

and apparently they didn't take height during kebaya

it depends on luck man!

it's not really logical since they've shortlisted those they wanted, but the rate is still so low!

yeah...

but was thinking if i just passed the height test then i wouldnt have to worry about the rest of the height test cos they din take any during kebaya and they axed water confidence out!

all boils down to luck

thanks CelT!

heee.. i duno if i look youthful or not... but i guess for write in, we older girls won't stand a chance of being selected for the 1st round. so i feel that a walk in wld be a better chance for us as in eveyone is given a chance to take a stab at round 1.

hopefully, i have all the luck at the next walk in!

good luck to all the peeps who are going for their management rd! :)

erieo, same here! heee... i just quitted my job abt 3 weeks ago! heee...

True true.. i just finish reading like all the post from this thread.. it seems not many have gotten thru..

So i'm wonder if i should go? But i think no harm trying... since i applied for it.. it means a part of me do want to go for it.. and since shortlisted.. just try lor..

Haha.. at most get kicked out. . . .

But i'm really scared if they ask me questions none other than like the normal introduction.. Ahaha...

I was just thinking.. If you have the power to pass a law.. what would it be.. and my mind went blank.. i can't even think of anything now!

i think the reason why they are being so stringent probably because there're many send-in applicants which gives them more choices.

coz there're ppl being shortlist for next date le: 11 sept... so i doubt there will be only one or two dates probably there's more coming up lo.. so those who have not sent in your apllication or have not been shortlisted do try to send in again yea.

and send-in application is much more convenient that's why more ppl are applying for the position ba.

and for those who's height is somewhere near 1.58m, i think you might wanna give a second thought. i do see ppl being rejected on the spot without giving a second chance for the round 1. it's quite a waste when you have to travel all the way there and kanna rejected on the spot.

anyway someone did mention that there's another walk-in coming up in oct/nov, so can always look forward to the next one de. they will always in need of crews (high turnover) so dun have to worry.

i believe as long as you have the perseverance and the belief that you can make it a dream come true, sure you will fulfil what you want. I have also tried so many times, 7 times in total. i also feel so sian each time being rejected, keep thinking why why why... qulification i have, height i'm tall enough, presentable looking, not very ugly or super pretty.

but each time i get rejected i get more determine to do better the next round. sometimes luck do play a little role. so dun be too dishearten yea. let us all jia you jia you make it a dream come true yea!!!

Hey Yoo... every1.
Juz to share my experience about the interview that i attended yesterday.

Yeah... as far as i know, my height measured to 1.58m. But to my surprise, the 1st reading of my height measurement was 1.55m. I was so shocked.... so, i tried for a couple of times and the lady told me dat my height is 1.57m. Fine... I was asked to touch that blue tape thingy... and I did that, easily I could reach the tape.
So, I went in for my 1st round of interview. After then, 2 girls from my group were called (I'm 1 of them) and we were asked to measure our height once again.... :o Guess coz both of us are those border line cases whereby the interviewer probably want to let us go thru the 1st round but need to double check on our height.

And then..... yeah.... none of us were selected. Only 1 girl was selected.

:x   Guess I gotta read on some books with the title "How to grow taller"

When I walked out from STC, all I could think of is "It was so close and yet so far away" :)
