Is it a common practice that the landlord require 3 months deposit for 2 years lease? The
property is 3 bedroom fully furnished at $4.8K. We have always been under the impression that deposit is 2 months for 2 years lease and 1 month for 1 year lease. Basically we now have to pay total of 4 months rental fee

to close the deal. It's a surprise for us and we feel a little hesitant about this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved as the landlord now agreed to 2 months deposit as opposed to 3.

Your deposit should be maintained at the level set out in the TA and only utilised as per the TA.

Don't think there's other way other than the tenancy agreement or asking the landlord agent.
