need serviced apartment for 2 weeks

Post by jasmine_g » Mon, 27 Aug 2007 11:44 am

Hi, we are looking for a Serviced Apartment for 2 weeks that doesnt cost the earth! We are relocating back to Ireland after being in singapore for nearly four years. We are shipping our stuff early. we can stay still in our apartment but would prefer a serviced apartment as we have a toddler and would be easier for him if he has basic things around. Any recommendations?

jasmine_g , try Somerset Bencoolen. We paid SGD 240 ++ per night (based on 2 weeks stay) for 1 bed room apartment. I know it's not exactly cheap but it's not as high as the other Service Apartments and it's much better than a hotel room.

Hi,

We stayed in an appartment at Centerpoint, Orchard road. Its across the road from Somerset MRT. Great location, pool, really clean and modern. It cost us $140pn, but you can get smaller room for $85pn. Their contact is 94599325. I highly recommend it. Our company put us up at Phonix hotel and we moved to the appartment as hotel was too small for long stay and too expensive.

Good luck

That sounds like a really good deal these days. $85/night comes out to $2550/month -- good luck getting a condo anywhere near Somerset for that price!

I try to call the number but there is no reply.

In fact I have contacted some property agents/companies, they are giving me some Ang Moh prices of SGD 8000 per month.

Who pays SGD 8000 a month?

Rails,
I contacted the number and I got through. But price has gone up I am afraid. What was the name of the condo, do you remember.

we stayed in an appartment on the 5th floor and it was really nicely furnished (plasma, modula lounge, king bed ect) and it cost us $140p/n in March 2007. They had shown us the $85p/n which I think was on the 1st floor, this room had 1br - lounge with tv - mini fridge small shower. You had to use comunity toilet (which was clean and just outside your door. I didn't think it would be much of an issue as there was no one else staying there. But we opted for the larger apartment with full kitchen.

Hi Rails;
What you mention SGD 140 per day is reasonable for a month stay.

I called the number some time ago, and it seems to be private apartment, correct? and you rented it directly from an owner?

Are there any washing facility, like a washing machine?
SDD 140 units is with bathroom attached, or sharing ?

Do you recall the name of the apartment ?

when we arrived here, the company paid our relocation and it included serviced apt for one month - unfortunately, our purchase of a home did not go thru fast enough so we were left with a three week gap where we had our furniture in storage, no home to move into and a very expensive Serviced Apartment which would no longer be funded by the company.

My wife is Singaporean and she went to find a lower price, full service serviced apt (pool and washing machines etc..) that would also be kid freindly. we ended up at Wilbt residences on Wilby Road - just off bhuket timah - really nice place and they have a bus service into orachard road and the city suntec etc..
