Any nap taking for kids attending afternoon N2 class ?

Post by charcoalmon » Thu, 23 Aug 2007 11:08 am

Hi,

Am going to switch my morning class N1 boy to afternoon N2 class next year. At present, he takes an afternoon nap between 2 to 4. Don't have any idea so far how to switch his nap or they will weane off it naturally.

Any mommies who experienced this change for their kids before? Apprecate your sharing !!

hi! how old is your boy? i thought for sure my son would be napping til at least 4 years old but about 3 months shy of his 3rd bday i started noticing that he was staying up later at night and sometimes waking in the night (he never wakes so this was unusual). i started to experiment a little bit - i started doing activites in the afternoon earlier and not letting him nap as long to see if that made a difference. it was a couple of hellish weeks (with a really cranky little guy) - but pretty soon he dropped his afternoon nap and was back to going to bed at 7:30pm and sleeping til 7:30am with no problem.

try and read his cues and see if there is a change in his night-time sleep pattern. most times i think they naturally drop this nap when they are ready. mind you, i was DREADING dropping his nap as i used to like the 'quiet time' (i have a 7 month old too).

hope this helps!
