HI. I have a son who goes to grade 1 at CIS. He's been there since SK and has enjoyed himself very much.
The facility at the moment is not so nice compared to other int'l schools but a new campus which will integrate all current three campuses is being built near Jurong Chinese Garden.
Although we are more familiar with the U.S. school program, we decided to send our boy to CIS because of the diversity of the culture. I understand SAS is mostly Americans, UWC mostly British and so on.
Here, my son has close friends from Germany, Belgium, U.S., Canada and Korea.
The layback for us has been the recent hike in tuition fee because of the building fund we have to pay now.
Another point would be the programs above third grade(Toh Tuck Campus). I've heard many transfer to other schools after third grade. I don't know if this will still be the case once a new campus is built. The school has been doing a lot to secure good teachers for the upper levels as well in order to dissuade parents from tranfering. But not sure how it is after the third grade.
I am also contemplating whether I should consider UWC when my son go to fourth grade.
If anybody has done this or has children at CIS uppper levels, I would very much appreciate your feedbacks. Thanks!
