Moving to Singapore from Hong Kong with Helper

Post by walaha » Mon, 13 Aug 2007 11:41 am

We are looking to move from HK to SG later this year and would like to bring our Domestic Helper along for a month or so to help us and the Kids settle in and to setup the household in the transition phase etc.
Anything we have to take into consideration from an Immigration point of view? She doesnt want to stay in SG and will have a return ticket to HK.

She can enter as a tourist and can stay upto 2 months. She will be granted for 1 month visa on arrival and that can be extended via internet for another month without any complication.
With my kind regards

We brought our helper along with us from HK on various holidays and recce trips before moving here without any problems at all, longest stay was 3 weeks. They never questioned it as she was just here as a tourist basically. My only recommendation is that your helper should state that as her reason for being here on her immigration form on arrival too!

Our helper decided that she wanted to come here after doing the trips and she is still with us now!
