Kelong trip!!!

Postby vjsimon » Sun, 12 Aug 2007 1:34 pm

Hi everyone!!

My colleagues and I are planning a trip to a kelong in Acheh, KL.

For those of you who don't have a clue as to what a kelong is, it is a traditional malay fishing home sitting on stilts.

The family of the fishermen stay there and it is convenient for them to go out to sea and fish coz they are so close to the water.

For more information on kelongs, go to google.com and type in "kelongs in southeast asia".

We plan to go during the public holiday in October.

We hope to stay there overnight and make our way back the next evening.

Kinda like a 2day, 1night stay.

Anybody interested, please email me for further details.

Thank you. :)

I think u don't need to go that far ... there's place about an hour's drive from JB where you can stay overnight on a kelong.

I think it is Kukup. Anyone been there?

Hi all,

I have good news for you.

The trip has been confirmed and the location will be HOT BOYS FISHING KELONG located at JB.

For more information about the kelong and its facilities, go to this website: http://www.kelongfishing.com/

We will be staying over at the kelong.

The date we go there is on the 13th of October on the public holiday, stay over and return the very next evening.

This is a 2 day / 1 night trip.

Interested parties, please either pm me or post a reply here and I shall include you in the list.

More information will get posted once they have been decided by the organizing committee members.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Sene,

Thank you for your suggestion. We had considered kukup but decided that it is much cheaper with HOT BOYS.

Thus, the decision to go to HOT BOYS. :)

Hi Elf,

The cost of the trip is about S$69 per person excluding transport.

We are intending to hire a van or a mini bus, depending on the numbers and the cost is estimated to be in the region of about S$100 per person.

If you want to do shopping, please bring extra cash.

Hi all,

May I have a show of hands as to the number of people interested in joining me and my colleagues for a trip to a Kelong in JB?
