xbox360 question

Post by Marlowe » Sun, 12 Aug 2007 9:14 am

hi all ~

i've never been much of a gamer-dude, but i'm going to be picking up an xbox360 next time i go back to the US in a few weeks. basically, i'll be getting one of those "a few units fell off the back of a truck" type deals.

anyway, just curious if anyone here can help me out. is there anywhere the you can get an xbox360 customized so that you can play games from any region? for the power supply, i'm assuming i can either replace the powercord w/a Singapore cord, or worst case use a power adopter. but, i'm not sure how to get the thing to be region-free. it would be a bit of a hassle to have to only play US-made games, methinks.

is this something that you can take to simlim or somewhere to have done? or is there a quick-fix like there is with dvd players? thanks in advance for your advise!

As long as you don't have to pay for it... otherwise I wouldn't touch the xbox 360. This model has been continuously dogged with problems and countless number of returns to manufacturer for repairs.

there have been a lot of ( well reported ) issues with the 360 . Mostly heat related.

You can easily get the 360 chipped ( modded) to play all games.

take a look on ebay singapore of singapore yahoo auctions. There's usually a few guys advertising there

Good luck

problems aside, I do prefer my xbox360 to my Playstation 3.

friendlier to use, more games and it's Microsoft, so I can stream video from my Windows Media Centre Laptop to my xbox through my wireless network.
I can also play MP3s from my PC at the same time as playing games on the 360.

BUT...... PS3 does have Blu Ray.
($300 gets you a HD DVD player for the xbox)

a year plus eh!!! well good for you. Dont move a genuine post into the classic singapore penis measurmeant issue. get a life or go post on a forum that reall loves tossers like you.

Fact is ..... to OP
Make sure you know what you're getting..a freebie is sometimes worse than the GA ( genuine article). Some thing thats cheap that doesn't work isn't that cheap. You already need an adapter. a chip upgrade etc .

Dont bother mate. it'll cost you money and time
