Well, they could post any topic under the sun. It's just ONE question...and that's it. U gotta present ur answer which shudn't exceed one min.

Common topics are self intro and how serious are u in becoming a cabin crew? Ur most embarassing moment. What u dislike about a girl (for stewards), who is ur inspiration in life and y, why do u like singapore and how many times have u visited singapore, the country that i would like to visit the most, if u have a superpower...wat would it be and y, if u were to be a fruit or vege for just one day, wat would it be and y.

So yeah, these are sum of the examples of the topics they could post during the group interview. It's pretty difficult to prepare i would say as u couldnt guess all possible questions that they could ask. So i think the key is dun panick when u get the question...try to calm down and formulate ur answer asap. When u stand up, dun appear nervous but show that u already got something in mind and would like to present it to the interviewer :) Hope this helps!
THX a lot 12345.. i really appreciate it.. generally what do they ask during the 1-to-1 inteview n also the mgmt interview? Thx again..

Well, during 1-1...they would ask more on y u wanna be a cabin crew and stuff. Also, the role of a cabin crew and why SIA n all. They would also ask sumthing related to ur education background...n would definitely ask y u wanna be a cabin crew if ur studies are not related to customer service. Then prob sum general questions about SIA...the latest news bout SIA, the ciities SIA flies to and the aircrafts that SIA operates.

As for management, its rather similar to the 1-1 but i would say the main criteria they are looking for is PERSONALITY. They would scan u thouroughly to try to determine wat sort of a personality u are n whether that personality is fit for the role of a cabin crew. They would try to determine thru the way u answer their questions. Also, they love to ask bout ur family background...dunno y. N of course, sum questions related to customer service :)

PENANG - cabin crew interview (6th October 2007)

It took me 5 hours to scan through most of the topics about cabin crew recruitment today. Yeah, I'm invited to this interview, which is just one week away. I'm still thinking weather to attend or not because I'm actually from east Malaysia, it would cost me >1k for my flights & hotel stay if i do attend. I never expected it would be so soon..

They mentioned that if i were to be selected after the preliminary rounds
of interviews on the 6th, I will be required to attend a final
interview on the following day. They did not mention about bringing my swimming gear. Should i bring one in case?

For those who had attended the most recent interview in Malaysia,
may i know what are there in preliminary rounds, and how about final interview?

My summary:
=================
1. Group of ten
2. kebaya-fit
3. skin check
4. water-confidence
5. 1-1 interview
6. Psychometric Test
7. Passage reading
8. tea party/presentation
9. management interview (= final interview?)
10. medical checkup
=================

Thank you in advance for answering :)

hi Shin...i think u might already have an answer to ur doubt...
because i was having the same doubt as u have...
well..of course i've seek for some advice...and i received different kind of advice....but somehow...i know i will stick to the intention that i've had at the very beginning...
this has been all i'm waiting for...flight attendant is nothing but a dream of my life...the skies, those airplanes and the world r all my dreams...
so, no matter how i will go for it... =)

if u have the similar goal as i do...u will certainly know what u're gonna do ^^
i'm nowhere near penang either...coz i i'm frm pahang and i think i'm gonna drive for 5or 6 hrs to penang
just bring along ur swimsuit as it doesnt occupy huge space in ur luggage, and u might wanna swim in the pool of the hotel u stay

didnt expect too much though, for what would be my 1st ever interview in my life..my confidence hasnt up to the required level yet i suppose...and english conversation...haha..the biggest challenge...i'm afraid i'll become stutter during the interivew...

btw...what will be asked during management interview? how many interviewers r there? i thought 1-1 interview is the management interview =/ and...is a passport required?
thanks~~
may the force be with us =)

Hi! First of all, congrats on being shortlisted for the interview :)

In relation to ur question on bringing ur swimming gear, the answer is u don't have to bring them as long as it's not stated in the e-mail. Coz they did not have any water confidence test during the kl recruitment as well.

Basically watever u got there in ur summary r precisely wats gonna happen that day. But just like caryssa said, they have omitted the psychometric test and the tea party. N plus this time round, they have also omitted the water confidence test :D So yeah, u're left with just the group interview, kebaya fitting/skin check, 1-1 (pls note that the passage reading is conducted during 1-1) and finally the management interview, which is also known as the final interview, taking place the next day :) N of course, u gotta go for a medical check-up if u pass the final interview.

Well, although the traveling is a bit far n costly for u...i would suggest u to go for the interview if this is really wat u want. Seeing that u've spent 5 hours doing research on this job shows ur interest and enthusiasm. So why not give it a try?? :)

Hi Michael,

U could refer to my earlier post in reply to LiYuin in this thread on the types of questions that could be asked during management round. There are usually 2 interviewers where one would do the questioning and the other would just sit there and observe the way u talk, body language etc etc. Pls note that the 1-1 interview is NOT the management round. The management round is the round after ur 1-1.

I believe SIA would have stated in d email on what are the required documents that need to be brought along that day. N i think passport shoudl be one of them...i'm not too sure bout the penang recruitment though. So, all d best to u! :)

No worries...it only takes one day now to get a brand new passport! So, 2mrw first thing in the morning, head down to wherever to get ur passport done n u could collect it on fri then proceed to penang after dat. Haha! Dun be negative...u havent even tried it once! U'll never know wat would happen rite? Hehe.

NO, the application form they were referring to can be found in the attachment of the email they sent u. It's 4 pages...n pls, pls, pls download it n fill it up b4 u go for the interview. Coz the other day in kl...many of the applicants overlooked it n the HR ppl actually gotta wait for them to fill up the form. This would delay the entire interview process significantly...which was partly why i waited 2 hrs+ before going for my group interview! So yeah...it's in the attachment. Just download it n fill it up :)

All the best to u this sat! Hope to hear good news :D
