if i'm not mistaken only the both of them have ground staff experienceredhot911 wrote:are you the 1250 slot?coz if u r, then i might see you...lol is the 2 chosen guy a Malay and a Chinese who talk about Breaking Fast....Starbucks Coffee? Well, i dun think they are really looking for the good looking guys. But somehow there's a lot of possibilities though. It can be they are looking for someone who is confident(i dun remember the Malay guy being confident, he's a bit of a sissy type though, and his Eglish is not so good also) but then he is cheerful. I think tha's what matters because the rest of us......according to me, I think quite nervous while talking to this young lady interviewer. She must be an ex-CC. I saw her and I am having problem in talking whilst b4 that, I dun feel my heart beating so fast.
Bac to the interview, different rooms asked diff question. A friend got the question, what do you wanna be, a vege or fruit? While the other one got the self-introduction.
As much as I wanted to be a CC, I have to face the reality and back to my job which will start tomorrow followed by a week of training at Bukit Jalil. Will try again once I am off the training......
Keep on trying and good luck....
i would expect so, tell us how did you do in your interview? wish you all the bestcalvink wrote:Hi...pardon me if i say this..Airline CC has one of the lowest requirement in terms of educational background....not only singapore airlines....
Since so many ppl resigning...they have to be extra careful...its not gonna do them any good in the long term given SIA status as a 5 star airline....
I've been an interviewer before in my first job as a consultant. Sometimes i rather choose those with O or A level than a degree cause i know the reliability and period of them staying longer is there....As a degree holder... u can have the 'ability' to job hop anytime. you have the most basic requirement for a normal office job..... Same goes with ppl who got chosen dont converse well in english in CC....after spending so many years onboard....if they quit, they might not get a good job due to their low educational qualification...So indirectly...they have no choice but to stick with being a CC...If you're a degree holder, nvm starting low....almost 80% 9- 5 jobs require you to have diploma/degree as a pre-requisites....though lower pay....
i have done placement for overseas candidates before and if they mention they have family financial difficulties or a single parent..or even has problems with family... i am very wary of placing them cause they might just quit halfway due to emotional problems...However, i might be wrong of course....
BUT....no point hiring someone with a perfect mind knowing that u cant really 'untrain and retrain' them in their new role because of their past experience...
Sometimes its Someting to do with the perception of interviewer that you cant change...that differs from yours.....we expect if you speak well, look good you will get through...
ahh interesting, what we really need sometimes is a pinch of luck!12345 wrote:Hello everyone! How did everybody do...esp calvink?? Well, let me start by saying wat happened on sat. My slot was 1pm n i was in the group where they asked about the fruit or vege question. Only 2 of us made it thru that round. After that, we were asked to do some modeling thingy...like walking back n forth in front of the interviewer. After that she had a casual chat with us. 4 of us...2 made it, including me. Then proceeded to 1-1 interview. Thank God this round went by smoothly n i was shortlisted for the final interview on sun.
A total of 21 ppl got shorlisted for the final interview (guys n gals mixed). 21 out of like 300??? Hmmm. Wat was more shocking is dat they only selected 8 out of the 21...so dat made the total number of selected candidates from KL recuitment sept 2007 to be 8 out of about 300. Unfortunately, i wasnt one of the eight. I was in the 1.20pm slot. Together with me in the room waiting were candidates from 1pm till 1.50pm slot. There were 6 of us...only one got selected. Basically, they only selected one candidate in the afternoon session. The other 7 candidates were selected from the morning session.
Well, i was kinda prepared for the worst looking at the way they eliminated the candidates. But when the results were announced...i was still rather disappointed and not wanting to accept the fact for a moment. Hmmm...i guess it's only natural? Coz i think everybody would definitely have a certain expectation since we've come to the management round....not sure. So yeah...it's just so near YET so far. N this is the 2nd time i failed at mgt btw. Hope i'll still try again next time...not too sure at this moment though.
Oh yeah, just a note to add. I truly agree with wat calvink mentioned...about the candidates having a-levels as opposed to having a degree. That's also probably one of the reasons y i always get stuck at mgt since i possess a degree...n it's an accounting degree sumore! As much as i always hope for the best...there are sum facts that cant be changed. For e.g me having a degree, me not having enuf customer service experience, me being perceived as being more suitable for a gound job rather than a flying job etc etc. So...yup, that's the reason y i said i'm not even sure of trying out again in the future. Well, would let God lead the way.
This post is getting really too long...haha! sorry to those reading it. just needed to find sum space to share my feelings. So sorry if i've bored u! N i actually kinda disagree with redhot911 regarding the malay guy's english. I know who u r talking about. He's an English teacher...n i personally feel that his english is definitely not bad. Just my personal opinion...
