Singapore Permanent Resident Status Enquiry

Post by Sephiroth78 » Fri, 10 Aug 2007 1:59 pm

Hello, i need some advice from you all who have experience in my current situation. I got my PR status about a year ago through application by my spouse. But we currently find ourselves unable to tolerate each other anymore and is on the verge of a divorce. So the question is if we are divorced, will my PR status be instant revoked, and have to return back to my homeland country?

Any other ways to retain my PR status after we are divorced?

Thanks in advance for any legal advice or sharing any experience that you all had. :)

As far as I understand PR status is, true to the name, permanent. The only catch is that you have to renew your re-entry permit every 5-10 years if you want to be able to leave and come back, but this is dependent solely on having income and staying in the good graces of the law, not your spouse.
