Singapore Mortgage UK property

Postby zjules » Wed, 08 Aug 2007 12:34 pm

Hi all, i have a house in UK and just about to change mortgages. Just wondering whether theres any way to get a mortgage in Singapore for a UK property.... seems like quite a nice idea to pay SG interest rates rather than UK... know if anyone does this?

Hi! Yes, Standard Chartered is tied up with Barclays to offer such mortgage loans. Check them out

This is interesting. how does it work from a tax perspective though if you not using rental income to offset a UK based mortgage? On another note, Is there a double taxation waiver agreement between the UK and SNG?
