skype phone

Post by rnb » Tue, 07 Aug 2007 11:24 am

on the skype shop, i saw phones that one can use to make skype calls without having to turn on the pc. unfortunately, the skype shop doesn't operate in singapore yet. does anyone know if such phones are available in the local shops? which model would you recommend? (if it matters, we're on starhub maxonline premium)

hello,

I have a SMC (white color)
sound is ok. actually it is even better than calling with skype on your pc as your dont have the phone manage the hard drive, the graphic card etcetc... so it's less noisy.

software is pretty slow but once you have started up the thing and setup your connexion to work with the phone everything is ok.

price is a little steep though...

battery wise I would say it is ok as well. battery lasts a few hours and can be recharged via usb.

i think i paid mine $249 a few months ago.

note: people will see you online and send you message... you cant see these messages (which can be frustrating for them as you will not see/answer them...)

we got a Belkin phone from somewhere in Sim Lim.
not bad - battery life kinda sucks.

Note - you do need a wireless network available to use one.
