textile/apparel jobs in singapore for expacts???

Dear All ,

I am from india , i want to enquire the prospects of getting job in
textile/garment/ apparel sector in singapore .
I hold a bachelor's degree in tectile from a recongnised unv in india .
having 6 years of experience in merchandising and sourcing of fabric
and garment in india and abroad.

can you list out theplacement agencies there???
i applied through net sits but got no response , even though of
good experience ,,i do not know w why??

There isn't much of a textile industry here. Only buyers from the department stores buying from overseas. As you know, the textile is a labour intensive one that used extremely cheap or child labour. Singapore's manufacturing sector is more value added and child labour is against the law so cannot compete due to the wage differential.

As far as merchandising and sourcing goes, there are plenty of people suitably qualified who hold citizenship or PR here. If you can find a niche that you can perform that the locals do not possess then you may have a slim chance.

I know this is not what you are wanting to hear but them's the facts. That's one of the reasons why you haven't heard anything from web based job boards either. They won't bother responding unless they can find value for time spent.
