so no choice but to leave halfway... but they did mention that the next one is in october...

cheers
first round 2 out of 8 got in...i thought most spoke okay... :)

my turn, very dissapointed i don't know whether i should go and try again
i wish to let it end for once and for all.. my 2nd attempt

next is important for those eliminated during first round...they are looking for somebody who can think deep into depth before speaking...i don't have such qualities... to me it is very difficult to pass the first round..i feel like giving up..maybe i am not suitable at all..i think i had tried my best..i know where i had gone wrong but i really cannot make it to second round..i am not confident at all...i even fail my english language..i can't debate... if i go again, i will probably fail my first round again..it will be totally hopeless and useless..i had misunderstood their question for during the first round..they will test your knowledge... :-|

i think most who pass their first round have a bigger chances than me.. i wish you can do better than me..
Wat was the question that they asked u?

Generally, there is no reason for someone to fail the WCT.

Unless, you cant swim ( swimming is never difficult, esp with a lifevest on )

Or,

You have your WCT on the second day. They have already taken in 99% of the girls on the first day, so girls who are taking their WCT on the second or third day are at a less advantage situation.

Spots on the back, shorter than 158cm is not a big issue actually.

hey downtown,

don't give up! keep trying if u really want the job. like what others had mentioned, it is the confidence that u need. in my group today, there was a girl whos command of english wasn't good and she paused a bit during her speech cos she was nervous, but she kept it cool and calm. she passed round 1.

u are so young, keep trying.. me in my very late 20s is still trying....

i think most impt is to be calm and don't try to make yourself nervous. :)

as for me i failed at skin check, haha, kinda knew it cos my skin wasn't in good state cos PMS (pimples) and i din sleep well the nite before, abt 3 hours of sleep only, thus my complexion looks really tired and dull. :-|

as for weight, i guess as long as u fit well into the kebaya, you are ok. haha.. i am fat! i was measured at 1.58m, a bit shocked (which was 3cm shorter than my usual height) and my weight was 59.5kg! hehe, must be the binging of food cos of PMS plus i am the big boned size girl.

was a bit sad that i can make it to the 1 to 1 interview. cos i duno if i can pass round 1 at the next walk in.

good luck to all going for the WCT. =)

Serious?!
Does it really make a difference if we go on the 2nd day for WCT instead of the first day?

Anw, not having good figure affect much? :(

Hey! I made it thru today! So Happy! Thanks for all those who wished us luck for the sunday group. I feel sorry for those who didn't make it. Coz I feel that SIA were particular strict this time round! :?

In my first round, only 2 out of 10 went to the next round. Face check both passed but 3rd round only I got thru.... It wasn't so strict at the April interview I went for lor... Dunno what they were looking for anyway.

But in this interview, its the first time where the guys also have to go thru a face check!! :o I guess their rasing their bar on the guys!

To all who got thru... All the best and jia you for our WCT!!

I'll be going on the 30th. Anyone else?
To those who didn't make it... Pls don't give up lah... Must work on flaws and try harder the next time yah?! I believe in you! You can do it!! :D

Hello 12345. :)

We were asked " Pls give an intro of yourself and tell us why you are here today"

It was freaky man! My heart almost jumped out when I entered the room. Thanks God I was the 2nd person to talk. If I had been the first, I would have freaked out liao!

Think that the 1st round is more scary then the 3rd round where its a one-on-one interview. :)

it depend on how you see it...it might be easy or difficult to some people..different people, difference perpective and thoughts.. :?
hey peeps..

downtown, i truly understands ur position. i tried today walk in (26th aug), but guess wat i was rejected flatly at the table!! furthermore, it was ma 1st attempt :( . the main reason cause ive got d7 fer ma english for ma os but i went thru the other route, ite.i didnt repeat ma os definitely but Ive got nitec, higer nitec n diploma in da local polytechic too. besides that, ive been werking part time in fnb, customer service fer many years and currenly im werkin in one of established boutique.

despite those, i was chased away. it was quite disappointing. :( i tried to explain tat my highest qualification is diploma but they said i still need to haf a pass for ma english in os. seriously, if i was rejected during the interviews, i would understand because there is something wrong wit me which needs to be improve but they dun even grant me the first interview.

im not tryin to be mean but i think i dun need to write when i serve the pax isnt it?? unless exceptional cases like deaf or anything... but i dun think i need to use bombastic words tho. sigh....i mean i guess i dun write well (u guys be da judge) but i feel i can speak well, im not afraid of public speaking. ( emcee in sch occasions and thousands of presentations do me magic).

im gonna repeat ma english os after 7 years tho not because of sq but i think it is necessary fer ma future.. but i need to wait fer like 2 years to get a pass so by the tyme i touching the late twenties already... im really clueless now.. i been wanting to fly but da attempt was very demoralising..
:(

i wish they didnt look at os jus now but look thru at ma other qualifications and ma experience in customer service..sigh.

meanwhile, im thinkin of other airlines but i reallly wish to be based in spore tho... :-|

somehow, they tend to pick all 99% of the girls who went on the first day.

It's always

for eg.

first day 38 passed out of 40

second day 22 passed out of 40

love`Qoo wrote:i think not only speaking well plays part.. its all about how you bring yourself.. the last interview i failed at skin check.. this time round,i failed at the first.. if i ever get to pass, does that mean that my english has no problems?

but the fact that i failed this time.. does this mean that my english has a problem then? well,i guess it really depends.. there's many people who passed all the rounds but were asked to take up an english course..

so i think if they really want you, your flaws can be corrected.. :D another attempt next time..!!

Hi,

I agree with you. During my group, there are few who spoke and presented really well, and most of us expected them to get in, but only 1/10 got in. In my friend's group, there are even those Masters in English language, they also didn't get through.

Well, in my opinion, i don't know whether it is true or not, but based on my observation on the girls who got through, most of them have a long and straight nose and their eyes is like higher at the end tip, those kind of the sexy looking eyes. Most of them i saw, with these two features got through with ease. I have like 4 friends gto both these features got in on their first attempt.

I think it's not just about the presentation or confidence level, the SQ look is also very important.

Please correct me if i am wrong.
