Is there any improv in Singapore?

Post by remersonh » Wed, 01 Aug 2007 8:57 pm

Hey,
I've been doing improv with the UCB theatre in NYC for the past year.

I'm moving to Singapore in Aug, and wondering if ANYONE does improv in Singapore?

Does anyone know?
Thanks!

What's My Line - they look really interesting but the date of the last show on their website is 12 July 2006, over a year ago!

I'd love to see some improv in Singapore... I remember searching for local improv last October after watching Scared Scriptless in Christchurch - couldn't find any improv groups in Singapore at the time.

Okay, I've spoken to my friend and he says that there are various projects going on - details of which he doesn't know too much since he's from one theatre group and there a quite a number around.

There is an arts comm e-group on yahoo. You can post your questions directlly to these pratitioners - but I do need your email address to add on to this e-group. You may either send me a message via this site or write me at [email protected].

Thanks for the replies. Have any of you done improv before? I'd be interested in starting up a group (long form -- primarily Harold) if there are any semi-experience people around.

HM, my email is [email protected].
Let me know about the yahoo group.

On a side note, would the government have any problems with a local improv group? Just about ANYTHING can happen during good improv, and some shows might fall outside of what the gov is comfortable with ... would that get anyone in trouble?
