Postby jameseoff » Wed, 01 Aug 2007 2:28 pm

For the Second week in a row,
A group will be meeting to play American Football

Where: Bisham Park, Left side of the spa, as you walk from the parking lot

When: Start playing at 9.30, try to start warming up about 9.15

PM, e-maill, call my cell, or just show up
James

I'll be wearing my Bright Yellow Chelsea Soccer jersey (Irony noted)

Hey,

Can I ask you a question with regards 'American Football'. Why is it called football when you don't really kick the ball like proper football and its more like a rugby ball? Also why do you wear pads and helmets and stuff. We don't wear all that stuff for rugby!!

I do have a small problem about your 'soccer shirt'

1. It's called 'football' - I'm gathering you're American coz of your 'football' but I wish you americans would get with the rest of the world on this one and call it what is - FOOTBALL!!

2. A Chelsea shirt!! Yeah well if you wanna support a second rated team then be my guest but I wouldn't announce it in public mate!! AND a shirt in Yellow... even worse decision!!

Oh by the way I can't join you this week.... maybe another time eh!

As you didn't manage to answer the first point I'm guessing that you can't quite work out the difference between proper football and your supposed 'American football'. Never mind, I suppose that might've been too big a step for you!!

And as for a 'jealous' Man U fan, you are right on one point, yes I am a Man U fan, but jealous certainly isn't the right word. I mean Chelsea might've won 2 out of the 16 premiership titles but Man U have won 9 - a record i might hasten to add. Oh and we didn't need a billionaire owner to pay for it either!!

I can honestly say, I'm not sure why it is called American Football,

I would love to play soccer(football) as I have spent more time outside the US than in,
If you find a group that wants to play on the weekend, (at a time other than saturday morning), count me in.
5 v 5 with 'pop-up' goals and no keepers is a blast.

PS, can you say Couple Double holders, and this year could be the Magic 4. Comunity Shield just around the corner, place your bets now!

Back the this Saturday, I put the list of confirmed players (for American Football) here:

well i guess you've never heard of the only treble winners then!!!

Premiership, FA Cup & Champions League!!! I think only Liverpool have won more trophies than Man U but they were back in the 70's and 80's!!
