Good stuff, joe! Kummi - the boxing school I was talking about is affliated - coach Kadir is doing the youth wing for it. I will send you the link of the school in private. I've been told that the gym they are at is temporary - I was waiting for them to come up with the permanent one. Oh well - make your own queries. :-)

Cheers!
HM

You can try http://sgboxing.tripod.com/index.html, which was mentioned earlier on this thread.

If you like muaythai, you can try www.bxgfitness.com, which is at Tanjong Katong.

I do Krav maga at fightworks asia in Macpherson, but they also have boxing daily and a full size ring in the dojo. They also do MMA, Ju-Jit-Su and Muay Thai.

Hi! newbie in Singapore and looking for a good boxing gym. I'm a female boxer, so am looking for a place were to have fun, but also good sparring. Read in the posts about Combat academy (also contacted them by e-mail) and Kadir boxing. They are very far...any other place any of you has tested? I live near Lakeside. Thanx

Boxing Club

Post by Referee » Sat, 16 Aug 2008 2:17 pm

Amazed I didn't see Vanda Boxing Club mentioned here. They are at Turf City and as well as being the home to the National Team they are also responsible for the Charity White Collar Boxing. I have been a member (as is my wife) for the last six months and we love it.

There website is www.vandaboxing.com.sg and they have both male and female trainers.

Reading what you guys are asking for, I think it may well interest you.

I just tried twice in past week at Vandaboxing and seems good and friendly ambient and you can go anyday aytime, which suits me perfectly!
All ages, skills and nationalities are welcome there.
Just a bit surprised to find there limited equipment and no showers (!), but still you can work out properly.

Quoting referee, I add that carparking is huge and free, for those who drive a car of course.

It is in Turf City, just off Eng Neo and Bukit Timah. Unfortunately there is no MRT really nearby to my knowledge, but easy parking, and bus and taxi stand available.

It's on the back of Turf City, where the Giant Supermarket. If you google map just type turf city singapore and when asked choose the mall.

I go there already on regular basis and it's really OK!
They also have website, it is http://www.vandaboxing.com.sg/
and also a website for their events http://www.vandapromotions.com/
There are girls and guys almost any age, mostly professionals, but also teenagers; mainly it is attended by expats, but I think this should make no difference.

To save u some time, when I first got in touch the owner told me to jump in to have a free session, suggested days are tue and thu 7:15 pm, but actually also mon and wed are good days.

They ask 125 S$ for one month, and the gym is always open, it means u can go in any time any day until 10 pm (of course not all the time u find trainers, so depends on ur skills, but in principle u're free).

the good thing about the gym is that it is always open, from 7am to 10pm, every day of the year.
