Sorry my dear i have no idea abt SQ..so i cant differentiate it much..but i heard to those who ever tried both airlines and they did mention that silkair is much easier...but got some few of them mention it's much difficult to get in...hmmm to me its just the matter how u bring urself up thru'out every stages of the interview...

why not we go 4 the next coming silkair inerview..just give it a try!! you wont know where you'll stand...hmmm i guess i will try...to show them that i'm improving for this coming round!! hopefully i wont regret again..but if it does..i will just take the fact..that i'm not for them....hahhahaha  just can't wait to try again...but i'll still have to be coOool!!! 8-) i'll take the step one at a time...dnt want to think too much abt it...

I cant really recall the interviewing process as it happened 2-3 yrs back. wat i can say is, jus simply be urself, be confident, dress smart, and remember to keep ur smile on at all times. dont be too tense and u'll do fine.

I guess most of you gals have probably heard abt the "Airline Culture". How "Seniority Conscious" and "Zappy" the seniors can be. But dont let these minor things worry u, it's really isnt tt scary as it sounds.
I would say nobody will pick on u for no reason. The gals there aint tt bitchy. Overall, there're more gd ppl than bitchy ppl there. Trust me. they dont jus zap ppl for fun and if they did zap u one day, they've got their reason for doing so. They meant well and they jus wan u to learn frm ur mistakes. if u're willing to learn, they're willing to teach. Stay positive!!

Here comes wat u gals are more interested in, the salary.
basic is 1050/mth and the rest are all based on allowances. We have transportation allowances, meal allowances, sector allowances, hourly allowances.
On average, u'll operate ard 19-21 flights per mth (approximately 100-110 hrs/mth excluding reporting and transit time). And ur mthly bring back will be ard 2.5-3k if u get have been a gd gal and dont report sick for any of the flights.

Bonus will the the same as SIA.

Staff benefits includes: yearly dental treatment, $5/visit to the clinic for the 1st 11 visits, 1 free travel to any of the silkair destinations, 1 sub-load tix which can be used on any SQ's flights subject on availability.

The contract is for 5 yrs and the bond is for 15mths which commence upon completion of training. The amt to pay if u resign within the bond period is $6500. (but i think they're increasing the amt)

And yeah, Silkair finally allows the internal transfer to SQ. They stopped this for 6 yrs and somehow started this again last yr. This is only applicable for ppl who flew for more than 3 yrs with relatively gd records.

Hope my above information will be useful to u gals. Pls consider carefully if this is the right career for u. This aint an easy job. And every single cent u earn is really ur hard-earned money.

I really glad tt I was once with Silkair as I've made lotsa gd frens there. It's a great experience for me!

Best of Luck to all of u gals!!

i believe no airlines would choose their candidates without careful interviewing process. I also believe u wont wan to travel on a airplane, wondering how did these flight attendance manage to get here when they do not have the passion, poor attitude, poor image, poor knowledge, right? one bad accident/incident can strongly affect a company's image adversely, especially in such case or airline companies where safety and service is what they are surviving on. You know hw scary is it to travel with such steward/stewardess..

but then again, if you have what they need, and they need you for who you are, you will have the chance.. jiaYou all~
