laptop to tv link

Post by jockney » Fri, 27 Jul 2007 2:48 pm

I have an EASY NOTE laptop (packard bell) and bought a cable to link in to my tv, plugged it in and nothign happened!
Am i supposed to do something else, all i wanted was to watch the stuff on the tv rather than the laptop screen?? :?

Yes, you are supposed to enable the monitor on your laptop. One of your function keys should do it - i.e Fn + F?? Look at the icons on the function keys and try to work out which one looks like a PC monitor. On my notebook its F7.

and dont forget using F7 usually cycles through the options.

hit once = lcd off ...svga ouput on
hit again = both LCD and SVGA plug on
hit again = LCD on and SVGA plug off
and so on.

Remember theres additional battery drain if the SVGA ouput ( to the TV) is on. Thats why it's not permanently on.

Good luck
