Even tho this is not by any means close to Bukit Timah area, I recommend Whatever at www.whatever.com.sg And I recommend Stella's class because it is dynamic and less meditation stuff. There is new teacher, Sunil, which is kinda ok, showing you step-by-step on achieving the perfect position, but I dont really like his humming and singing :D Oh, and also the fact that he is he and I am she :D

Happy yoga!

Hi Michelle

I am new in town and looking to start yoga classes too (despite the fact that I am as flexible as a plank of wood!). This website looks pretty good so I am going to give it a go. If you fancy joining me, let me know... I'll probably head down during the week as I'm not working yet.

Hi Clare,

Yes the website does look good, am thinking of giving one of the ashtanga classes tomorrow ago, but will definitely be looking to go during the week too, so if you decide on one let me know.

That makes me sound very flexible but really i'm not!!

Thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle

I actually found a yoga studio nearer me, next to the Hilton on Orchard in a building called Forum (6th floor). I went last week and am still feeling it now, so guess it must be a good one!

Their website is http://comoshambhala.bz/default.asp?section=339 and it costs $30 per session walk-in price.

I'll probably be heading there for the Friday lunchtime class so maybe see you there!

Clare

hey,
I'm just getting into yoga (as in I too am like a piece of wood) and joined "True Yoga" they have about 3 really smart almost new sites (one at scotts rd off orchard and two at raffles place mrt). They have a really wide choice of classes and also running all day long, with a gym and everything too. Deffo worth a look - membership they offered was rather high but cos I really wanted to join that day got a great deal.

basically any form of exercise still need a form of individual discretion ..dont give in just because of fad / friends ..in the end may result headache /pain which the services wont even compensate ..a friend enrolled n had her back injured n will still never recover from her previous perfect health

I really dont recommand true yoga. Their sales and the GM are giving rediculous prices. Right after signing with them I found my friend who is also a member of True Yoga got so much cheaper than mine and she even got 2 months additional classes for free. They told me the minimun perod of contract is one year though my friend only signed 4 months.

When I went back to question them, their customer service gave me more even strange reasons like the cost for the cheaper contracts were covered by the creidt card company.... can you believe that??

So finally I decide not to argue with them. Instead file a complint to the consumer's association

basically this is not a honet company based on my own experience.

Those who are interested in Yoga can try the classes in the community clubs. Much much cheaper, smaller group and teachers are really taking care of the studnets.
