Is it difficult to get a partially furnished condo?

Is it difficult to get a partially furnished condo?

Hi everyone,

From what I've seen on the net it appears that most condo apartments are fully furnished. Is it difficult to find/get a partially furnished place? We think we will be better off taking most of our furniture with us to Singapore in December.

Also, I'll be working in Thomson Rd with think we will live in Ang Mo or Bishan. Our budget is between s$2500-3500, do you think we will be able to find a reasonable 3br condo for that price in that area?

Thanks for all your help - its a great site!

Hello,

When we relocated I wanted to ship our furniture with us. I felt it would make the place we moved into feel more like home and it would be less disruptive and more familiar for our son to be surrounded by our own things.

I looked at some condos that were fully furnished and didn't find it to be a problem mostly. You can just ask for the condo to be partially furnished - that is white goods (fridge, microwave, washing machine etc) only. In most cases, where the landlord was a company or a big landlord dealing with lots of properties it wasn't a problem at all.

The only time I came across a problem was looking at a house that was being let by a private landlord who asked for storage facilities to be paid for (extra $200 pm) to store his furniture.

I hope this helps.
