Hi
Planning to move to SG soon from US (internal transfer)....my wife and I are planning our 2nd child........if she is ready to deliver soon after we get there, how much total cost are we looking at ?
Will my basic work medical coverage cover all pre-delivery and delivery charges ?
Do I need to buy up add'l coverage ? My CPF (and Medisave) will have just started so probably not much $$ in there

Delivering baby in Singapore
Re: Delivering baby in Singapore
Lucky you to be going to Singapore I just came back and forgot how much I missed it.
My wife delivered on July 17th on scheduled c-section and overall cost was about $4k USD. Try that in the states! Medical care in Singapore is very advanced and efficient.

must be excited to move to sg. all the best to your wife. i m working in a postnatal ward in a private hospital. it cost u 230 per night in double bed and 400 in a single room. u have your own ob n gyn looking after you so the care is really individualized. you get what you want. there are hospital packages....like holiday packages...hahah..
this package you could arrange with ur obgyn and the hospital. its cheaper that way...
for c section is about 4 to 6000 sing dollars minium...if everything goes fine. if ur baby does not need to be nicu for special care...
other deliveries(normal, forceps, vaccum...etc) are 2500 to 4000++
u could pm me if u need to see a good obgyn when ur here
good luck
