Hello,

I am looking for destinations at around 2-3h flight or drive from Singapore for a beach weekend break, any recommendations?

Cheers,

Bintan island (Indonesia) is 50 minutes ferry ride from Singapore. Many resorts are available for stay.
With my kind regards

You can't swim in Sentosa. Sea is not good there. But if you just want to play beach volley, it makes sense.

a 3-hour flight can take you to the beaches in thailand, indonesia, malaysia, and the philippines. take your pick.

Bintan is very convenient, I would recommend Mayang Sari challets.... rustic woodden challets directly at the beach, quiet and relaxing. Also some nice snorkeling to the left of the bay

You can try Cebu (in the Philippines), or Phuket or Krabi in Thailand. Check the weather before you go :)

A 3-hour flight is a bit long for a weekend break, once you count the time you spend at the airport before checking in and then travelling to the beach from the airport... but if you've got an extra day or two it's perfect.

Hope this helps!

the gili islands, lombok in indonesia. its 2 1/2 hours on silk air direct from singapore. the gili islands are perfect as they can arrange your transfer to and from the airport. you leave early in the morning and can be on the islands by lunchtime. perfect for a long weekend. we stayed at big bubble dive - fabulous.

Cebu is great but the beaches near the city/airport aren't that good. If you've got a long weekend, you can go to Cebu then hop on a ferry to Bohol (2hrs) for great beaches and snorkelling/dive sites.

Hi there, I have been to Tanjung Pinang in Bintan. It is quite nice and a bit laid back. Even though prices are still cheap at resorts compared to Singapore, due to commercialisation, they are quite marked-up compared to those in the towns.

That sounds interesting! Last time I was at Cherating group activities were more like a group grope! Course that was around 12 years ago.
