I'm just curious as to what people get in their expat packages. I work for finance related firm based in the States that has no formal human resources department or expat program, in fact I'm the first one from the firm to live/work overseas while working there. So it's been hard for me to gauge what expat packages normally consist of.
My package is simple - I have up to 3 trips back home to the States (business class) and the firm pays my rent and utilities (around S$4.5k/month). I don't have any wife or kids so school tuition is not an issue yet. But am wondering if there is something else I should request. It's hard to ask for a hardship allowance since Singapore is as easy to live in as New York. I still get paid in USD on the same basis as I would back home.
What are the components of your expat package?
