Hi KINJAL,
Me and My Wife are plannning to apply for LPR. From what you said you got your LPR in 2 months..did u apply for it from India? also as u mentioned ur frens too got it within a couple of months..did they also have an australian degree?(and hence they easily got the lpr?)...do let me know... i have done my engg and mba from India itself...is it easy to get a job there once u have an lpr..and which field..? what kind of a job are u doin?
awaiting ur reply.
I applied for LPR when I was in Melbourne. So did my friends. We did have Australian degrees...but I'm not sure if that's the reason I got it easily as I'm not aware of their criteria for approval or disapproval. As for jobs, I'm into advertising, so I dunno about the market for IT or management, but Singapore does seem to have many IT jobs. Once you get ur LPR you ought to come here and look for work. In my case it took 2months, but really depends on your field and work exp. Of you need to know anything else, lemme know. G'luck!
Cheers,
Kinjal

hi kinjal,
thanks for ur prompt reply..
Actually similiar to your case; my wife (Deepti) has done her Advertising Masters from RMIT Melbourne, she is my spouse applicant for application from India.

1. She has no advertising job expereince (In India), so in case she wants to apply for advtg jobs in SG what post and salary is expected at entry level.?

2. Did you have prior Work-ex in the advertising field before applying for an advtg job in SG ?

3. Do you stay in a condo or HDB and what kind of rentals do we expect?

4. Do you know of any one who has applied for a LPR from India, so that we can have a better idea? any email Id's if you can fwd to me.

Thank you and awaiting your reply.

Hi,
Ok. Firstly I did my M.A (Advertising) from RMIT too.

1. I'm not sure what she is looking at into advertising, so am unable to advice as to what salary you can expect because it differs from department to department. If you can advise me on whether she wants to get into Client Servicing or Creative and also what exactly does she want to do, I'm happy to explain.

2. Yes I did have prior work exp abt 2 years before I commenced my Masters at RMIT

3. I rent a room in a condo. As for rentals they vary from place to place depending upon the proximity to the city and things like that. Currently, the real estate market in SIngapore is quite high. If you can provide me with your email id, I can send you some websites and things which will help you to guage the cost of renting. A 3 bedroom HDB can cost anywhere from $1500 and more, condos are relatively more expensive.

4. I dont know anyone who has applied from India, but I wud reckon that your wife wud stand a decent chance considering my agent advised me that because I had an Australian degree it was easier for me. But dont quote me on it.
Cheers,
Kinjal

A Landed PR would be, ive received emails asking me whether am i a PR holder, otherwise they cant help me. Oh dear/..SGD 1500 = RM3000+ a lot of money but worth the investment if you really decide to go overseas.

Hi Apuva and Narayanan,
Tell me about your latest updates. Did you applied and LPR and got it? How long it took to know the outcome? Before getting job to get actual pR status, can a LPR holder open a bank account and rent a HDB flat?
Pls answer. Thank you.

Been working in Singapore for 1 years, and my income was about $6400 per month with Big Investment Bank,

My details are us under.

Age : 26 Yrs

Education : From India
Bachelor’s of Commerce (Accountancy / Audit / Taxation) Major from University of Mumbai
Chartered Accountant (ACA)

Experience : Banking Finance & Accountancy

Other detail : HSMP Visa from UK.

Please let me know if I would be eligible for LPR

Help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, as you can see I'm kind of new here.

I'm a fresh grad with a banking & finance degree from Australia and wish to find a job in Singapore, but i have no previous experience at all. I had my primary and secondary education in Singapore (that's 10+ years). I'm Indonesian and I want to apply for LPR... but do you think there's a higher chance for me to get a PR straightaway if i applied for that instead of just an LPR? I mean I lived there previously, not just 1 or 2 years, but 10? Even my younger sister has a PR over there.

Pls give me some advice. THanks in advance
