Advise for rhino recovery

Post by boicott » Fri, 27 Aug 2010 12:13 pm

Hi all,

Today is the 4th day I had my nose op done in Hatyai. First day was perfectly ok. 2nd day it started to swell which includes the face and eyes. 3rd day my face and eyes swell as well but deswelled a little when i placed the ice-pack. However at night my nose bridge and tip have red patches on them? Is that normal? I'm very worried as I was told swelling will go down by 3-5 days but i don't see any signs of improvements, and I 'm worried that my nose is rejecting the silicon? Is that true?

I've been following the doctor's advise in taking medicine regularly, placing the icepacks daily and eating lotsa fruits and resting alot. But I'm not sure why I'm still not recovering? Any advise from people who have experienced that will be appreciated.....

Thanks.

Do u think your red patches came from "ice bites"?
The swelling will not go down COMPLETELY by 3-5 days, but you should be seeing a slight reduction in the swelling. Anyway, recovery is really on case by case basis, not everyone heals the same. It took me 2 weeks to look socially acceptable...So be patient! :)

If you're really worried, you can always send in a pic to your plastic surgeon & enquire.

What are ice bites?

I emailed the doc and he mentioned unless there is severe pain(ie infection),i should just bear with it, but I'm worried cos am starting work on Monday.

Thanks for your advise. Wish me luck.

Err...like skin gets red/irritated because of the icing.
Doubt yours is an infection, but gd luck still!
You can always use a concealer to hide red spots or wear a specs if you're conscious of how your nose looks.

Dr Nara doesn't "trim" nose to make it smaller or slimmer.
Unless you are talking about alarplasty but alarplasty is only to reduce the width of the nose and doesn't help to make the tip sharper.
huh reducing the width of the nose will make the nose smaller right?
Reducing the width, "alarplasty" is going to make the bottom sides of your nose narrower, but it's not going to make the tip of your nose smaller. In fact, it'll make it look even bigger because of the contrast in proportions. Think about it this way, if you put a nail, with the sharp part pointing towards you, on top of a very large dinner plate, the nail is going to look very fine and small. However, if you take that same nail and put it on a smaller circular flat surface, its going to look more blunt, and bigger overall. Wider alars makes the tip look smaller. In your case, it looks like you have a big tip so I don't think narrowing your alars will help because then you'll just have a big tip on narrow alars, which will make it even look bigger. What what make your nose look more elegant is tip plasty.

Also, on day 4 you are probably still swollen. I've heard of people whose noses have stayed swollen up to a year.

aadvark, are you still thinking about getting forehead augmentation? I am as well and I know a few doctors that are really expensive and am searching for others. Do you use yahoo messenger or AIM or skype?

Actually last yr July, i went to nara to lipo my arm.
surprising he kept telling me if i can bear the pain of lipo then BA is not a problem to me becos tt time my gf she did BA n kept telling Nara she is in pain when he came to discharge her the next day about 1pm. Then i was siting beside my gf, at tt time it was second day of m lipo.
I m surprised i could move around shopping n carry my lugguage.
Really hope e pain is jus as minor as Nara describe.

Jus tt the hosptial is very LOK kok.
I jus know must remove nail polish colour for hand n legs.

Scare the side effect after op is vomit lo, cos my gf vomit a few times as she say her throat got the gas smell when she wear the gas mask.

Her result now is good, breast quite soft not gummy.

I gg 3 Nov to 5 Nov, airfares r cheap total $124.

Anyway it is only 1.5hr flight so i just bear the pain n fly home to rest better.
I see...! Hope i can handle the pain too.. Damn excited.. though it is still another 3-4 months away. Doing rhino too..! So hope that I can suffer n recover at the same time. Any idea what is the name of the hospital? Can my fren stay there overnight in the ward ? Private ward or what ?

All the best for yr op..!!

I am not too sure ur friend can stay with u or not.

It is a room, you be the only one inside.

The hospital is like malaysia very kampong side 2 level hosptial.
can, my fren did BA with nara. her sis stayed in the hospital with her overnight.
Next: Forehead augmentation, botox, RF

Never take someone for granted because you may wake up one day and realize that you’ve lost a diamond while busy collecting stone

Hi,

You go to Paypal website, register urself a account it is free.

At dr nara's website under calendar that section you will get to see a email

to send for paypal, copy n come back to paypay website n paste the

email address. You may use credit card, n key in the digit they will bill u.

Then next day, u call dr nara's nurse n check have they recevie.

As for admin charges, i m not sure cos i haven got my bill even have should be few dollar only.

Dr Putt does not have any website.

Usually he will take 2 to 3 days to reply ur email or never just like

me actually i plan to go 2/9 but he kept on no reply which worried me alot.

Plus he do not have much reviews on BA so i changed my mind to go to

Dr nara instead. I tired calling him hp but no one pick up plus i text him

also no reply even though the line is still in use.

Sigh......very hard to get him......
