hello! for lipo at nara, he does only traditional lipo, which is very traumatic and downtime is longer. two thumbs up only for the price! btw, i heard trad. lipo is not only invasive and the results is not better than VASER or any other newer technology. i am nonetheless interested due to the price. 500SGD for abdomen/two thighs(outer).[/quote

the one i did at KALO is not vaser lipo i think it was Tumescent liposuction. but i'm wondering if Dr Nara does the same method as KALO?

I am here to affirm that Tokai Clinic's post op care is fantastic. I did tip refinement over there and Dr Pat mentioned that if he open up the nose (it's open rhino surgery) and if necessary to insert an implant, he would take it from the ear cartilage. Thank goodness after the surgery, he mentioned he did not insert any implant for me because I dont need it.

However I have to warn you that tip refinement is very painful. Halfway through the surgery, I woke up and could feel them cutting the cartilage and sewing the nose. I kept telling myself to bear the pain but it's sooooo painful. (Note: I had tongue piercing and it's not even half the pain for tip surgery)

After the surgery, aadvark mentioned that I looked damn pale. I was running a slight fever too because of the pain I guess. Maybe next time, ask for anaesthesia or moan when in pain. Don't be stupid like me, trying to tolerate the pain. The post op care compensated for it so I am very impressed with Tokai Clinic and give it thumbs up!

My nose is swollen so unable to tell if it is sharper but i can see that it is smaller and less bulbous already which is great since i assume it would get smaller when the swelling is gone. I think it is worth the money afterall ;)
Hi,

how does the doctor refine the tip without insert implant? remove the fats ? have u done any other procedures for ur nose before? i dont know if i should juz do alar alone as my bridge is quite high but i m worried that my nose will look bullbous after tat..

Hey greentea,

it's my first nose job and just like you i have the bridge already and i dont feel it necessary to insert nose implant.

Dr Pat cut my nose cartilage to reduce the tip and that is why it was so painful as I have woken up halfway during the surgery.

Alar is to reduce the nostrils but personally I feel that by refining the tip to make it sharper, it gives a visual impression that the side of my nose is smaller. If you are doing tip, i think you should allow your nose to heal nicely and decide if you really want to do alar because it has to do with the outlook of nose you want to achieve but you can always email Dr Pat and ask for recommendation. :)

hey daybreakk,

thanks for the encouragement! :)

I am looking forward to the look of my new nose. I am wondering if anyone would notice then because I am anticipating a much smaller and sharper nose.

Good luck for your PS trip to Dr Nara in Jan, if you are going. However, do note that Dr Nara is all about achieving a natural look. I wanted a much obvious effect on the appearance of nose so I guess Dr Pat could help me achieve that. It all depends on what your aim is.

hi, do you know the actual procedures that were done? Fats were removed and were cartilages repositioned? So it significantly made it smaller, less fleshy and sharper(more defined?)

if i require implant(which he uses autologous) how much will that be?

yes, non tumescent if i'm not wrong. that means the very very very olden first method where you have to go under GA then they use the probe to break the fats, in and out in and out. heard it causes lumps leh, thats why sort of scared. i'm pretty sure its a different method that we're talking about. :)

i read somewhere online that traditional lipo no longer exists? and most of the world is doing tumescent lipo...

someone mentioned in a previous post that Nara does not do vaser, only traditional, and we have stuck to that tune since then

i'm not sure whether Nara is actually doing traditional or tumescent, because the downtime for my friends who lipo-ed tummy and thighs at Nara was quite little, they were back at work less than a week later... so i wld guess tumescent, maybe someone wanna clarify this with dr nara?

p.s: so does Kalo do vaser or tumescent?

i told him abt it also, i even gave him my name, but he din manage to find the email in the end... if u do on fri, u prob wun be able to go to work on monday... i did on saturday, and my face is still super swollen, from cheek below eye all the way down to neck, all swollen... it's going down but now it's early morn tue and my face is still quite big, so doubt you can recover in time... by the rate i am deswelling, i wld say 1.5-2 weeks to go down to normal...

i din do buccal fat pad removal this time because i did dimples which is the same region as buccal fat pad removal, and my face is already swollen due to the dimples... with the cheek and underchin lipo, i look super fat lor... the swollen area feels numb and sore to the touch, and first 2 days, got bruising around jaw and neck area and a little around the cheek today... not a small surgery i wld say...

dr nara's staff confirmed with me the other time when i asked. she say traditional leh. i'm not too sure also. but frm what i read tumescent is not another method leh. its just a procedure most surgeons would employ during lipo. :???:
