dear ukoriental

thanks for sharing your experience with yoskarn clinic. i read it and its very detailed. i now feel very confident to go ahead with my surgery with him. yours is among the many other positive reviews. he is apparently one of the best in nose work, and i think he should be able to handle my lip lift well too. i will share with everyone once i am done with the surgery with dr somyos.

i thought that you just disappeared after your surgery but you stayed to update us about the outcome, which i felt is very kind.

until then, take care and hope your nose gets better =)

By the way how much was your stay at aphoridite inn?

Did you do it under GA or LA with sedation?

If you could rate your nose out of 10, with 10 being best how would you rate your nose, before and after? Of course, its too premature to reach the BEST state of your nose.

Just curious to know his experience

Hey everyone!

Got back from Yoskarn a couple of days ago. And I am happy to say, a very successful trip!!!!

I really dont know where to start, anywho. I had 3 procedures done at Yoskarn, eyelash implants, eyelid revision and rino (alar, tiplasty and refinement of bridge)

When I arrived in Thailand i was taken straight to the hospital for some tests, blood pressure, x-ray and blood tests, needless to say this really scared me and I started having doubts about the whole trip. My main worry was that I was not fit enough to go through with the surgery so thank god it was all ok!

Anyway I will try keep it short. I stayed at aphrodite inn which is linked directly with yoskarn, they have a door that leads straight into the clinic so no need to walk the streets all puffy and swollen!

My consultation with Dr Somyos Kunachak was about 25 minutes, he had his surgical gear on and seemed a bit rushed for time. he looked at my nose and proposed a silicone implant alar, tip refinement. I said no to the silicone implant which he accepted. My main concern with my nose is not my bridge, altho it is not very high it is not low to start off with. So he suggested alar, tiplasty bridge refinement and aquamid on the upper part of my nose bridge. I asked to see some pictures and he said to look at his website, admittedly this disheartened me a little. So then I asked his assistants if i could see pictures and they said they would show me the next day which they did after i had paid. I think they are only willing to show you before and afters when you are definately going to have surgery with them.

I looked at rhinos of western and asian patients and i have to say they were incredible. Alot of them were revisions too which is actually alot harder than primary. Some of them had really complexed noses and Dr Kunachak had managed to turn them not only into 'normal' looking noses but into really beautiful looking ones. There were lots of folders of before and after pictures, she couldnt show me most of them as they had not given permission. But the ones I saw made me much more confident and relaxed about the whole situation. I saw a couple of eyelid revisions, which again I was impressed with and a few eyelash transplant ones.

Had my eyes and nose done together, minimal pain although the injections were quite nasty. The packing that is used to stuff the nose is awful too, i couldnt breathe out of my nose for 3 days and had a really sore throat and any water i tried to drink kept going up the wrong pipe! The worse procedure was the eyelash transplant. Dr Somyos' team performed the transplant on me, with about 4 of them working on me. The injections were incredibly painful and I actually cried during the procedure!haha I feel stupid and bad for crying but it was so painful I couldnt keep it in.

I am 2 weeks post op and I must say I absolutely adore my new nose. Id like to share my pictures but not just posting them up here. My tip is so defined and 'cute' and the contour of my nose is just so delicate and feminine! Is there a photo album site where I can make an album and a special password for people? I am so happy with what Dr Somyos has done for me, the longer I was at Yoskarn the more friendly and warm Dr Somyos and thier team were to me. The post op care is amazing, and they would often bring me treats and desserts. I am also very happy with my eyes although they are still swollen and its too early for the results of eyelash transplant (can take 6 months).

Dr Somyos is a very busy man. After my eyelid revision they took me to my room for about 15 minutes as he had a couple of consultations to see to....now I realise when I had my consultation what he was doing. Then after that they did my nose. I think he finished at around 9pm. So to those who were also put off by his website, I dont blame him if he does not have any time to look at it, he is always working!!! I saw alot of patients, and a few with bandaged up noses....am still surprised there is still so little information about him on the net, as in my personal opinion he is a very highly skilled surgeon.

wow, theres so much I can say but am just so overwhelmed. Please anyone ask questions because I know how one persons opinion/experience matters so much as I was researching I was desperate for the slightest bit of information. Fire away!!

I just ordered mine and waiting for it to arrive at my place, going over to Nara for LIPO very very soon! So excited.

Zipper is stage 1 garment and non zipper is stage 2 garments.

Stage 1 is worn 1st-2nd week right after surgery and stage 2 garments is for you to wear after that up to 6-8weeks -> that will solve your saggy skin problem therefore getting the compression garment is definitely needed!

I was once like you, finding lots of research and all, now I'm already done with my homework and getting ready to go!!

so the doc will actually wake u up once its done?
how do u feel the moment u're up?
any pain/discomfort or tiredness?

Could anyone advise me wat's the difference btw compression wif zippers and without? Which 1 is better?
I'm lookng at veronique's c-garments.
the 1 for lowerbody - both are above knee body garments (same thing)
wif zippers are "Ideal for immediate postoperative wear."
non zippers are "Ideal for wear during the final body contouring and skin retraction phase of your recovery"
of cos non zippers is wat i looking at...
to retract the skin

actually i was looking at full body suit all along.
but then now i'm thinking maybe i shld buy seperates cos i still can wear it as girdle in future when i wear dresses?

So many things to read, do research and purchase....
looking forward to it yet so nervous at the same time.... :???:
i actually cant realy remember if i woke up or the nurse/doc woke me. but i remembered faintly walking in the robe and changing back to my clothes. by then i was already much awake and could walk back to the hotel. and i told myslef i had to walk str8 and not like a drunkard.. lol

Sorry Pootie, did you mentioned which area you did with Nara? Sorry too many post till I'm so mixed up already.

Wa need to put on the waterproof filming huh.. I am going to to arms, tummy and thigh. which means I have difficulty to shower after that. I'm thinking of gg to the hair salon to wash my hair everyday. Lol. Salon in hatyai should be cheap also ba?

Oh yah, one question, may I ask you for each area/each day you did the lipo, how long was the whole procedure from you getting to lie on the surgery bed till you get up to go?

Thanks!
if u dun mind not showering on the day after ur lipo, then u dun need to buy.. u can go bakc to nara the next day to change the dressing to the waterproof film for u.. it wil stay on for 1 week or longer till u remove ur stitches.. :)

if u have the waterproof film dressing u can wash ur own hair.. lipo is not painful.. u will only feel the pain if u press / hit it.. its just like very bad bruises tat all!! no worries!!

its one area each day, for me very fast.. nurse told me my session on 45mins each! LOL.. from lie down to out of clinic abt 1hr ??? didnt really timed but it took faster than expected which was y i headed back to the hotel on my own.. :)

Yea! One of my girdle just arrived! So happy. I order 3 garments and 2 sinecch but they seperated 1 of them to another package so 2 shipping, don't know why also. So now waiting for another package to arrive. Wow, this package took 5 days to reach me after payment made and everything.

I ordered these : (Brand: Marena)

(Stage 1) http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=33528

(Stage 2) http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=33529

(Arms) http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=33548

(Sinecch) http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=10369

Yeap I am in SG and the shipping method I chose International Standard as I have time to wait. This method takes about 5-10 days to reach you. If you want faster, choose International Express which takes 2-6days if I'm not wrong, but will be more expensive of course.

The shipping can be calculated altogether after you wanna finalize your order, then you convert the price to SGD lo, it's in USD anyway.

So ya sasa, do your calculations right, you calculate the total price of all the item you gonna order in SG and total price if you ordering from Makemeheal.com + shipping fee and compare. That's what I did and for me it's cheaper to get from makemeheal.com

And depends on you ba, it's better to buy 2 stages of compression garment if you want maximize compression. They have their purposes to make 2 stages of garments for lipo patients.

Design Veronique garments are higher price than Marena though, but after much homework, many lipo patients said that Marena is enough. (:

I am not very big size that's why I'm confident my tummy just need 1 day where I read some forumers who is bigger size would have to sepeare their tummy into 2 days = 2 areas.

I see~ I am very excited ! How's your result so far?

My girdle just came and lol for the *pte* part there, a big hole. HAHA. For us to "convenient" so I guess I maybe can tahan don't shower right after lipo? Just use the wet cloth and wipe I guess.. But I'm doing 4 days lipo means 4 days don't shower meh!

Hi Envy me,

I'm actually looking at the same garments as u...
but the thighs 1 i only looked at stage 2 lah...
Might consider buying the stage 1 as u suggested...
Veronique is much more exp...
if marena is sufficent, of cos i'll take dat liao loh... :D
The shipping is standard?
If u dun mind, can share how much u spent in total for the garments, sineech, shipping eveything in?
Sineech wise, i'm not to sure how to consume it, will need yr advice on dat...
oso, they need someone to sign upon delivery or will leave the parcel at Post Office if nobody's ard??
nobody's at hm during weekdays....
if really need to sign upon delivery, i might need to put addy as relative's place and ask them rec for me.

I guess my tummy might need to be considered 2 areas...
See how it goes...
I'm gg to call and make appt soon..
can i check wif u..
call and tell them when reaching can ardy?
i was tinking reach on a sat morning, afternoon go for consultation....
then will the 1st area be done on sun or sat evening itself?
How many days do we need to book?
i was tinking 4 areas but if tummy consider 2 then become 5 areas...
like dat how to book eh? :???:
care to share wat's the schedule u had planned?
Hopefully, I can get some reference from there..

When will u be leaving for yr lipo? :)

I will be doing chin and cheekbone implants with Dr Nara, but i am thinking of going to Tokai for Jaw bone reduction either 1 day before or 1 day after the surgery at Hatyai. if my face is swollen (out of shape) due to a surgery before that, will the doctor doing the surgery after have problem judging what size of implant or how much to cut becos he cant tell how my actual face shape looks like?

Like example if Dr Pat does jaw reduction based on my current chin and cheekbone size but 2 days later i go Dr Nara to do implants will the proportion go wrong? or will Dr Nara chose too large implants for me cos my face will look too big due to swelling?
PLEASE do not do that!

That is highly risky and they are only but human and not Gods.
They will most likely make mistakes even if you tell them beforehand that it's swollen..
You better wait for the swell to go off before you regret doing such a unsensible thing..

DONT do it..
there cld be potential for error. i did eyes, nose, chin first with nara, then went tokai for jaw implants one yr later. the jaw implants ended up throwing off the proportions for the chin, so my face looked improportional. had to revise my chin implant after that. moral of my story, you have to be aware which areas of the face affect the others.

bumrungrad is popular, but not cheap, so if u have a budget, Yanhee is prob your one stop center for the above. The catch is that the surgeries u listed are all day surgeries, so u wun get to stay ur entire trip in the hospital, u will likely have to stay in a hotel somewhere
