Recovery Update

Post by Meow » Thu, 05 Feb 2009 7:02 pm

Hi gordianknot,
How's your recovery so far?
I've been following this forum for some time.
I am oso planning to have BA in 3 month time.
Would you share & update us your experience, any garnment
that need to prepare after op? How you manage to go back Sin straight after op?
Last but not least hope that you are recovery well.

gordiansknot wrote:hi all,
i just went for BA with dr nara, i must say he is a very nice and friendly doctor. and he has got a group of friendsly staff, esp there's a nurse who volunteered to send me to the clinic for a blood test in her motobike.

overall was okay, but i guess the pain is too much for me,i opted for the incision under the breast. i went back on a 15 hours coach ride straight after the op.

and nara skills, i must say its quite good(=

pootie wrote:Hi all, im really a noob so im gonna ask a few noob questions. pls bear with me.

im going with a few frens to see dr nara and dr puttisak. i'll be doing thighs lipo with dr na and doing a nose job (for a higher bridge) with dr puttisak. these have always been what i wanna do and the no.1 thing my fren and i are most fearful of is not complications but if the surgical equipments are clean... cos i dun wanna come back with AIDS.. :p

my lipo and nose job is fixed on 28/2/09. unfortuately i'm going club med on 28th mar which happens to be exactly 1month after my surgeries. will the scars be obvious and if there will be obvious swelling for my thighs? how long does it take for my nose to look normal?

also, is it possible for any water activities? can i suntan?
i think we shld dispel the myth that a particular surgeon prefers to do high bridge etc. it boils down to the individual face, the features it has to begin with. some ppl cannot take a high bridge unless they do something to their forehead as well, else they will end up looking very fake. i'm sure we have seen ppl on the streets with very fake noses and no one wants to end up like that.

a good surgeon shld be customising the implants etc to suit ur face. i'm sure if u can take a higher bridge, nara or puttisak or any good doc for that matter, wld be willing to give it to you. if u r not suited to have a high bridge, then a good doc shld not be willing to give it to u

to answer ur other qtns, one month shld be enuff for most obvious swelling to go away, but there will still be slight swelling of cos (puffy-looking).

prob shld not do water activities yet if can avoid, and dun do too much suntanning, bad for the scars
for lipo the swelling will be gone in about 1-2week time depend on individual.. however the will be some colour different in e lipo area but it is not obvious as it is very light.. as for nose i guess aadvark had ans it..

hmm i was out for suntanning last week during cny day 3 :D and i'm still fine (approx less den a month aft my lipo & nose job) hope it helps

and also the scar for lipo wil b about 1cm .. inner thigh wil not b obvious cos is inner.. but outter will b about middle of ur thigh.. try not to wear skirt until e bruises is gone..
thanks so much!! no i dun wear skirts.. im a pants girl so its ok for me.. just tat me going club med on 28th march so its like 3 - 4 weeks after lipo.. i dun care tat pple can see i went for lipo.. as long as the mark is not screaming at pple to look at it.. :p

im gonna do eyelid surgery to lift droopy eyes.. and rhinoplasty with dr puttisak.. im so excited!! :) then im contemplating epi after tat and i know neither dr nara or dr puttisak do them.. do u guys recommend any docs??

I always imagine if its a real shop.. how would an ordinary day at the store look?? People walking around...with swollen faces and bodies and bandages everywhere... hahahaha..

I am looking at their compression garment ... they have two types .. stage 1 for the first two weeks, and the other stage 2 for thereafter to the 8th(?)weeks.

Anyone has bought their compression garment from this website? is it really necessary to buy both .. or is it just a waste of $$$ ?

:???:
i bought mine from ter.. i only bought the stage 1.. and after my stitches is remove i wear it only at home..

if you 1 2 wear a garment during e day time and when u are outside then you can buy e stage 2 garment.
thanks for your reply Niew...
I am a little perturb though.. I thought it's super important to wear our compression garment all the time for at least 1 month after our surgery..

We can don't wear it all the time ???? :P

only thai airways flies direct to hatyai to my knowledge, not sure whether that's still true tho. i flew to hatyai via bkk on budget airlines (i used air asia), so that it's cheaper.

i booked Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel because it was next to Nara's clinic. Also big with shopping centre on the lower floors so it was more convenient to settle meals etc. i usually book thru websites like hotelthailand.com, cos it's cheaper than booking direct

if u r doing lipo, then yes, u shld bring the compression garments, cos even tho nara says dun need, most sites and docs say u risk loose skin, not to mention the lipo will not be as effective if u dun use it

yes, u r suppose to wear it 24/7 for the first month if possible

I hope someone can help me on this...
Am currently researching who to go to have my nose done in Thailand. Reading up on Dr Somyos at Yoskarn clinic but looking at his site he uses articles/sources from other plastic surgeons sites, like he uses Dr Bauman's pictures and articles for the eyelash transplantion bit and he uses another surgeons soucres under buccal fat removal. Is this allowed? It puts me off a little.

Thanks!

p.s sorry for my very bad grammer and writing, am very tired!

if u dun require tipoplasty, just rhino and alar, then i recommend nara and puttisak, at least they have been tried and tested many times.

is it expensive?

Post by lane » Sat, 07 Feb 2009 3:07 am

hello everyone,

i'm considering Dr Pat for my nose, and for rhinoplasty with alar and tipoplasty, he'll be charging me a total of USD$2000.

implant - USD$600
tip - USD$800
alar - USD$600

Is that the standard price, or is that more that it actually is?
i've no idea as to how much he usually charge, but would anyone consider this as 'normal' or would it be considered as overcharging already?

heh.

thank you in advance for the replies.

Regards,
Lane.

U can actually try asking for discount. Dr pat might be able to give u a cheaper price if u are able to send a deposit of US$200 to his paypal acc. Try asking him, its no harm anyway.

Unfortunately tiplasty is the main thing i need!lol Also he does eyelash implants which i would like, but his website just seems so mis-matched.
