i'll be doing my surgery with my in 2weeks time and i'm still deciding on where to live. i'm not good with BKK maps and stuff @_@

is the clinic far from the aiport? how long by taxi? haha .sorry i'm a little excited.

I hope you surgery went well!~~ we're all excited to hear about the revision results!!
i will recommend staying in the city, since his clinic doesn;t have much to do in the area. i stayed at this new hotel called Citin Pratunam (huge room, free wireless, $54sgd/night), right in Baiyoke. so i cld shop and eat in the area as well, b4 and after my op. i booked thru wotif.com

i just took a cab to tokai, it's arnd 200 baht a trip. i even memorised the address, sukhumvit rd soi 97 :)

baybiblu wrote:Hi aadvark. If its not too much trouble, may I ask you a question about your personal experience with chin implants?

The plastic surgeons I've consulted all advised me to have a chin implant to fix my recessed chin (my chin is very tiny and does not protrude out much). During my consultation with Dr. Pat, he mentioned that the chin implant can also help to make my face look slimmer (I feel that my face is too round).

After your chin implant with Dr. Nara, did you notice your face becoming slimmer? Does the chin implant easily shift its position when you accidentally knock onto it? Was there any noticeable bruising/swelling after the sugery and if so, how long did it take to subside? I also heard from some surgeons that doing a chin implant can make the nose appear smaller. Did you personally observe that for your face?

So sorry for having to bug you with these questions but I'm scheduled for a chin implant surgery in early Jan and as the days draw nearer, I'm more and more worried that my face might end up looking worse than before the surgery. Also, my school term would start in the following week after surgery and I'm afraid that the swelling and bruising might draw unwanted attention on campus.

~Thanks in advance
it def makes ur face slimmer. first time i did the chin implant, whole face is pulled longer, everyone commented i slimmed down but no one mentioned anything abt a chin implant. the good thing abt swelling for chin implants is that it swells mostly vertically downwards, so it's not horribly obvious.

it makes sense that it makes ur nose look smaller. when ur face is pulled longer by the chin implant, the total surface area when viewed from the front will seem increased. so ur nose:face ratio will def decrease, hope that makes sense :)

it feels a little soft first few mths, but as time goes by, it feels as solid as ur own bone, so just have to be careful at the beginning :)

one last thing, first time i did with dr nara, i did intra-oral, means from inside the mouth. if u have a choice, do it from below the chin, small incision only, wun leave much scarring if any at all. i remember how horrible it was to keep the wound clean, and swelling prevented me from eating properly for a while. now i did from below the chin, i cld eat straight after the surgery without much problem, just my 2 cents worth :)
Thanks aadvark for the advise and information. Hope that you're healing well from your recent surgery.

If you don't mind boiling the actual herb, you can actually buy ready packed boxes from supermarkets and Eu Ean San Chinese medical shops. My mum boils them for me from time to time as she said that it nourishes the blood. She claimed that its more potent than the pill form which has already lost some of its potency during the processing phase although I must admit that the pill would certainly be more convenient and much easier to swallow than the wierd tasting soup.

my mum used to make the soup for me during puberty as it was supposed to help me grow faster as well. i love the taste! but now that i'm staying alone, i'm too lazy to make the soup myself :P

Thanks aadvark for the advise and information. It was really helpful in helping me understand more about the chin implant surgery that I'll be undertaking soon.

Would it be possible if for you to send me some before and after picture of your face after the chin surgery with Dr. Nara? I'm curious (and a little worried) as to how much an impact it would make to the lower 1/3 of my face especially with a recessed chin like mine and also how much it would affect the over face shape. My email is "[email protected]". If you do not wish to share the photo for personal reasons, it's ok, I'll understand :)

Thank you very much. Hope that you're healing well from your recent surgery.
have pmed u my msn :)
the chin does amazing things for the face.
i had a recessed chin too, and the first time i did it, it made my whole face so much slimmer and younger looking and more proportional as well.

i have been quite depressed the past 9 mths after doing my jaw implants, because after the jaw implants, my chin implant seemed too small and sharp and threw the balance of my entire face off.

i was quite happy with my chin implant but i wanted a more defined jawline to get a nicer profile. so my recent trip was to redo the jaws to make them smaller. but a twist of fate lef me back to tokai where i first did my jaw implants.

dr pat suggested i redo my chin implant instead to match the new proportions created by the jaw implants. i was quite concerned this wld make my entire face very big. I am overjoyed to say that it has restored proportion to my face and the overall look is something i have always wanted.

so guys who wanna do ur jawline, remember to do ur jaws b4 doing ur chin or do them together, not separately. previously the jaw implants and 1st chin implant din align, i could feel a sudden angle change where the implants were supposed to meet. now dr pat has made a new chin implant where it flows nicely with the jaw implants, as if they were all connected...

and yes, my nose does look smaller now ;)
