Whats the difference between buccal fat pad removal and lipposuction of the face?Do they have the same results?

Anyone knows which doctor in bkk is good at this and how is the price like for both surgery?

haha, i think i explained this one too many times le...
buccal fat pad and your normal subcutaneous fat are 2 different layers, so result depends on which layer is thicker.

only thing is subcutaneous fat can come back if u dun exercise and eat a lot (read: grow fat), while buccal fat pad removal is pretty much permanent

if you have chubby cheeks whether fat or thin, then prob means buccal fat pad is thick; if your cheeks only look fat when u r fat overall then prob is only due to subcutaneous fat

Hi, I am new to this forum.
I hope my questions can be answered.

Because I went looking here and there and I am still not quite sure of the answer.
Is there a cosmetic/plastic/skin procedure that lightens the skin tone?

My friend said it was chemical peel, however when I researched, I saw that chemical peel darkens the skin as a side effect?
Or did I get the wrong information?

Thanks~

I went for my rhinoplasty + alarplasty on monday, 15 sep 08 with Dr. Nara. the surgery part is really nothing cos you won't feel a thing under anesthesia. all you can feel and see is the tugging of the flesh and pushing of the silicon implant into your nose.

the recovery part is a total bitch. my bridge is not too high or swollen, but my tip and the sides of my nose are extremely swollen and bulbous now. i look like ms. piggy. it's super depressing to look into the mirror. i looked so much better pre-surgery. but i know swelling is part and parcel of a nose job yeah? keep telling myself to give it time, that i will look better soon. i hope i will look socially acceptable again by the end of september. that will be 2 weeks post PS. will post pics when I am feeling up to it.

so far I have been drinking pineapple juice and eating pineapples and papaya. i also sleep with my head elevated cos it's supposed to reduce swelling. any other tips to speed up the healing process?

also, for the self-dissolving stiches in the nose, i heard they take about one month to dissolve? i am due back at work in about 1 week, and i don't want to have the threads dangling out of my nose! is it possible to get a GP to trim the visible threads for me?

for those who returned to work with slightly swollen noses, did your colleagues notice anything and what explanations did you come up with? the thought of being seen with my pig nose really depresses me. and it doesn't help that I have sinus and my nose is dripping all day long! argh.

just say u have a bad cold. nara shld have given u alcohol and swabs. just keep using them to clean the wound, helps the threads dissolve faster too

But I told this new nose of mine does not really complement my features...

So went ahead with the surgery and I was put under LA not even asleep! Wa when he injected the LA needles into my nose it was soooo painful! Tears kept dripping and I asked why he don't want to put me to sleep? He told me its just a minor procedure and sedation is not required.. Which I realized after the op he is right... Took out the implant and it was actually very small only... Thickness only 3mm... And he commented wa your nose bridge so high already so put implant... We both laughed about it and I came to a conclusion that my natural bridge is already very nice... I was greedy for more and regretted it... Learnt my lesson by paying school fees... So anyone want to do rhino can ask me first... I will give you good advice... Don't take the wrong road like me... Waste time waste money...

But I'm not deterred by this episode... I had a long discussion with the doctor and we both came to a conclusion that I shld lenghten my tip and raise my alar to have a good looking nose... And leave the bridge alone...
congrats! raisiing of alar is quite cool btw xD

Hi Everyone,

Newbie here. Currently i'm considering whether to make a trip to see Dr Nara or do my surgery in Singapore at TLC in dec for Lipo/Dimples

I have some questions regarding Dr Nara, will really appreciate help on them by people who visited him =)

1) How safe are the equipments used by Dr Nara? (heard some scary stories of people getting diseases from surgery overseas)

2) How many liters max did he do for you? (one day or spread over a few days?) Would also like to know how many days did you stayed in thailand for it =)

3) Where are the scars located? Are they visible?

4) Would really like to here from Ex-dr Nara patients in details on how their lipo went >_<

5) Anyone made Dimples with nara? Did they look natural?

Thanks in advance!

Edited:

Just read up on Dr Tokai's clinic too. Which would be a better choice for lipo/dimples? Nara or Tokai?

Anybody else planning to make a trip to Thai in early Dec and interested to go together please send me an email at [email protected] :)

Thanks!

goodness, where got piggish! it's very mild lei, at least it still looks like a nose... i remembered i looked like a witch...

ppl, you all have to be patient! how can u read this whole thread about the surgeries and not read the rest of the posts about being patient!

here's your timeline:
2 weeks for most swelling to disappear so u wun look like a freak show
6 weeks for bridge to go down further, tip and alar might still feel hard
3 months when the final shape starts to appear
6 months when u get a smaller version of the final shape
1 year and it's fixed :D

3) Where are the scars located? Are they visible? 1CM Scars FOR EVERY LIPO, NOT TOO BAD, mine are still a bit visible but well i am dressed all the time - i live in europe

just read thru the last 10 pages, suuz gave a very detailed account of her lipo with nara... homework ppl!
it is on page 101 and 102
must add:
Nara does 1 area each day for safety reasons, so you don't loose too much blood and you can recuperate every day. It depends on the area how much fat can be taken away. My belly was only 0,5 liter but it is the area you loose the most blood (it is also the area i am least happy about because it is still very uneven- below the bellybutton is slimmer then the side and above and there are little thicker parts)(the rest is done beautifully but really do expect they can only target when there is more then 3 cm of fat between your fingers if you take the skin...and afterwards there will still be fat left...no boony figure)
For me 4 areas was really the max...i was wasted after that (and took almost 3 weeks to feel the old me again) and the total max is about 5 liters of fat (but old rule is 3 liters of fat) i had with my 4 areas around that 3 to 3,5 liters of pure fat, but every day the flask was full with a 2,5 liter of dissolvement liquid and blood and fat.
Then also for safety i would never do more then 4 areas as you have to realise your skin is teared and your skin is your biggest organ, you need it (thing about people who are burn victems...if too much skin is damaged you will die)
If i can advise you:
Do hips, lovehandles, back, thighs etc. I am not sure you will be satisfied with the belly i guess it is a really difficult area, i will give it time (as it needs 6 months to 1 year for final results) but i might have it done again at an expensive clinic.
I will go back to nara (one day) for my bumm, inner thighs and hopefully knees...
The scars are there yes but if you don't know i wonder if anyone would notice, even when you are in bikini (afetr 1 year when faded, now mine are still abit red)
