Back on topic, I'm back from my cheekbone reduction surgery anyways with Dr. Charan. He is definitely one of the top guys having been the Thai PS associations president, with a huge list of other accolades so you may have to pay a higher premium compared to other thai docs. I think there is a "thai price" and foreigner price - and its probably only possible to be charged the same as thais if you have a thai friend bringing you along. His clinic was very popular for sure and many of his patients looked very "well heeled". All the mercs, BMWs, lexus etc stopping outside to drop people off.

Results wise, its a little over a week. And I still have alot of swelling, but mostly on one side. Its odd but the difference is subtle. My face looks the same mostly but is somewhat smaller?

Here is a b4 after.

On a side note, you can notice a "chalazion" or eye stye on my eyelid which the doctor removed for free since I was under GA anyways.

I'm still really puffy, you can't really tell since it is under the eyes.... and the swelling is mostly on the other side of the face. My Bf's dad thought that I gained weight at first (cos of the puffy cheeks) when I returned so its definitely not in the mind.

Maybe its because I tend to sleep on my side, despite being not told to.
I ate Sineech which probably helped in the zero bruising at all but there was a blood spot on my eye which went away in 1-2 days.

I also broke some rules - like I couldn't resist the temptation and smoked quite alot (and even had some glasses of wine) out of boredom in the hotel room.

Food wise, I bought alot of blueberries, strawberries and kiwi fruits though from the emporium gourmet supermarket (antioxidants since I smoked :P ) and mostly munched on that, along with a liquid diet of instant soups and juices for most days. I think I lost maybe 2-3kg and feel really detoxed haha. So really skin and bones now :D You get this feeling of hunger, but due to mouth inmobility, I didn't have the mood to eat at all.

I also made sure to really make myself super comfortable and went for many many foot massages.
looks softer now. if it's swollen now and so obvious already, think will be even more obvious when you fully heal! Nicely done, which clinic/hospital is Dr Charan from? :D
Thanks :) I forgot to add that some of the swelling is on the lower jaw/neck as well so maybe thats why I look "fatter"

He's from Bumungrad and his place is called (Charan Clinic). I think he's one of the head honchos there.

But he has an extremely well equipped clinic, traditional decoration with an OT, guest rooms (I was quite amazed at the guest room where I stayed for one day) etc. Therefore, I had the procedure was done in the clinic because it was so much more ex at the hospital and I decided I didn't need the luxuries. I think its better though to find a doc who's clinic is near a major hospital, like Bumungrad for e.g. in case if anything goes wrong.

jamie82: Those are amazing results, you must be very happy.. happy for you too. Your eyes are lovely also.
Anyway, you're talking about bumrungrad here, they're on a totally different level from most thai PS clinics and certainly not cheap, in some cases even more expensive than tw/korea depending on procedure.

BTW, alot of korean artistes get their jaw line reduced too... many korean women have huge masseters/flared jaw lines.

Thanks :)

I think my doc is quite cheap actually even though he's highly ranked and I opted to have it done in his clinic not the hospital. I paid $3000 USD btw. Korea would have cost me $6k-8k USD? Taiwan I suspect in between ($4k-5k.)

Plus Korea and Taiwan probably is alot more ex hotel wise and for airfare, with waay longer flight hours. I took Jetstar and stayed in a great hotel and the whole thing cost me maybe around $600+ for both. Maybe cos its off season now.

I suppose Bumungrad is ex for those heart bypass kinda ops and it is definitely catered more to "ang mohs".

Nice work Jamie..Can already see the difference before and after... For me still prefer my old nose haha.... Must wait for swelling and nose to take final shape though... But I'm a very impatient person.... Haha same here... Was smoking thru out cos too bored in the room....

Yup Dr Charan is definitely one of the best in Thailand having so many accolades.... Was considering him too but he did not reply to my e mails...

Good luck for your recovery!

Swelling is going to take time! You'd be worried if your nose looked perfect after only so few days.

Thanks.... yah its crazy boring cos apart from smoking and watching cable, every moment U'd tend to take a look at the mirror to see, as if there is a difference after one hour :D .

Once I could, I went out shopping and exploring immediately!

[email protected] this was the email I used to correspond? Since apparently there's a problem with the university email server, I simply rang up the number to ask. He's a nice guy really who speaks really good english and I even have his mobile. Felt bad that I maybe troubled him quite abit since I was :o due to swelling in the first few days.

If i'm goin to Tokai or Yanhee in Jan, any budget but clean hotels to intro? (Clean in all areas... hygience and ghost... i'm quite timid of such things...) 3star will do... how much will it be per nite stay for 2 person?

Thanks in advance...
Yoskarn is in bangkok, can google for their website.
for tokai, i didn't find his b4 after pic for jaw reduction very impressive, so i didn't recommend my fren to do there (she asked me to help her research for jaw reduction).

Yanhee will be a safe bet, since it is a hospital. I'm going there in dec, so cannot furnish you with any details right now
but u done any PS jobs at tokai? juz unsure bout Dr Pat's reputation... some bad comments... which is y i'm unsure...

Yanhee wise, they haven reply my 2nd mail... so i'm still waitin... i've also sent other mails to other doctors...

btw... so the research u doin for ur frien, which doc u recommend?

and i realised tt charges are different if there are local referals... any1 had experience with tt? or discount if recommended by ex-patients?

my bugget for hotel will be with SGD100 per nite?

How is the result of the blepharoplasty surgery there?
I am quite lost as I do not know whether to do the stitching method with Dr. Nara or cutting method at Yanhee.
Does Dr. Nara offer blepharoplasty service using the cutting method?
yes, he does. he chooses the technique based on what he feels u need

yeah, went twice to them. first was dec 2007 for cheek and underchin lipo. 2nd time was in mar 2008 for jaw implants. the lipo was quite satisfactory but the jaw implants are a bit too large.

yeah, went to watch movie every night at central after my jaw implants :)
cut down on the smoking tho. one observation is that some of the forumers who suffered infection didn't cut back on the smoke and drink.
