hmm my nose was definitely swollen after the surgery but only slightly. and on the second day, it was still fine in the morning and early afternoon. it started to balloon only late afternoon, along with my eyes and cheeks. now still very swollen.

yea, i wear only contact lenses now. dr nara said i should try not to wear specs for 2 weeks. on the way back, i thought i'd try to wear sunglasses (i've got a very big pair which rested on my cheekbones) but that was a bad move. because my face was swollen, there were these depressed lines on my nose and cheeks which took a while to disappear.

haven't taken pictures yet, because my eyes and cheeks are swollen too. i really look quite unlike a human.

i'm thinking of doing on a fri morning and go back to work on monday. dunno if my face can look normal by then...

the swelling only started on day 2 or immediately?

where did u get your antibiotics from? u know which one to buy from the pharmacy?
Hi adonz

I did rhino and alar together...

Frankly speaking, there's no possible way that u can get back to work on Mon if u are doing the surgery on Fri..trust me :P

For me, swelling starts on day 2 then slowly day by day subside...On the 7th day, my face looked like normal leh but facial expression abit stiff..

Which is...if u are recovering well...Doing the surgery on a Fri, u may going get back to work on Thurs..

Dr Nara gave me both antibiotics and painkiller...I only had 1 painkiller rite after surgery...coze the pain was there when the LA wears off...
For antibiotics, just take what he gives..If i am not wrong, antibiotics cannot be brought over the pharmacy counter, they have to be prescripted by the doctor...

wanna ask, after the nose job, how long after we'll need to go for a follow-up session?

Thanks!

hey im back from nara. hope this info helps some of you who are going..

was able to be there with daybreak and his friend during the first few days..they were great company and help.

surgery was great, i was awake but no feeling at all. he was like asking me to stop "squeezing" my eyes together. Not a surprise that i didnt fall asleep cause he said i'll only feel drowsy not sleepy, in case he wants me to move my eyelids i guess.

he did rhinoplasty first, followed by eyelids.

first day of surgery, i had little to no bruising on eyes and nose..but my eyes could barely open so i felt a bit confused.

second day, nose started swelling, eyes swelled more too. went to remove bandages at nara.

third day, seems to reduce to first day of swelling.

fourth day, went to nara to remove stitches(a bit early, but he told me to go check with the nurse to see if its possible to remove cause i said the stitches are making my eyes very tight and itchy, and i dont really want to go home to get it removed)

still swollen but reduced swelling and i went home on the coach.

hid my face under huge-mosquito like glasses and alternate it with cap at night. no one could tell i think. hahaha.

actually i managed to get antibiotics at the thai pharmacy..so maybe you all can try if you feel that the 5 days of antibiotics dr nara gives is not enough.

aadvark! thanks! was through talking thru msn with you that i really picked up courage to just go and get it done, even if i had to travel alone and all. many thanks=)

and no, dr nara's clinic is not as scary as protrayed. its just what it says, a clinic, nothing more nothing less. but i think its value for money.

1. where did u change ur currency? at hat yai or in sg? i knw tat bkk rates r betta than sg but are there many $ changers in hat yai?

2. does lee garden hotel comes with wifi (paid or free)? any hotel with wifi?

3. does nara accept credit card?

4. where to book the coach to hat yai?
i can answer that i hope=)
1)i changed in singapore when it was like 22, ages before i went for surgery. golden mile had the rate of 23.2 the day i left and lovely tour(the place grassland drops you at) offered rate of 23.2 also. along the way, we had some money changers, was about 22.9

2) i odnt think it comes with wifi, cause i couldnt detect the signal. there's this place downstairs(whole of leegarden is a mall) that you can use internet for 20baht for not sure how many minutes.

3)dr nara only accepts cash

4)i booked my tour at grassland at golden mile. its along beach roach. think there's konsortiurm, srimaju as alternatives.

hope this helps!

adonz wrote:yunli.. did u get any bruises on your undereye or cheeks area? like blue black kinda stuff? so basically only ur nose is swelling? u have any pics? can email me?

i'm tinking of gg nara to do rhino.. how did he perform the surgery? did u feel any cutting?
my apologies, im not comfortable with taking pics/loading them/sharing right now. its not very asthetically pleasing really.

i didnt get much bruises so i assume that it was pretty well done cause i got tonnes of bruises when i went to laser some millia seeds away. not sure if this is true, but anyways, im happy i wasnt too black and blue.

didnt feel anything, could see him moving around and all, but blurred images and very very drowsy. i heard some strange noises but he was very reassuring and said, no worries, its just him shaping some thing. i was like too confused to say anything anyway.

honestly, i think the height of my nose is not as high as i want. but he says that i cant have too high a nose or its unnatural since my nose is rather small and i have small features as well.

oh well, he says he knows best, i hope so. and ill know better when the swelling goes down.

might not be checking in here too often..so my apologies if i dont reply soon enough. get a headache after staring at the screen for a while cause i have to strain my eyes open.=T

adon..hope this helps you. =)
