then for other airlines, everyone must fly to BKK then transfer... so troublesome :(
if TG won't fly there anymore, maybe i want to go earlier liao..but no companion leh...

btw, anyone had chin implant before. care to share real life experience? i have enough general reading from the websites. will swell for how long? must wear support for how long? how the PS decide the incision to be done inside or outside?

Hello everyone, I had my breast augmentaion ,chin implant and under eyebags done by Dr Nara in 2004.

My advice is to go with someone who can look after you post-op; especially if you are going to have major surgeries like Breasts implant & lipo. As much as I want to say Dr Nara did fantastic jobs on me,I have to admit he provided minimal post-op care ,I guess this is you get what you pay for.

Here's my story :

I went for Dr Nara after many recomendations from friends who had undergone his knife.I tried to call and email for consultation before I book my flight to Hatyai, but I got very simple reply and it's extremely difficult to communicate over the phone with Dr Nara's receptionist. I booked my time anyway since my friends seem to rave about him.

The consultation lasted about 10 minutes,Dr Nara isn't the kind of surgeon that will go into too much details of the procedures ,IF YOU DON"T ASK .

I had my chin and under eyebags done at the back of his clinic,I was asked to get a taxi (Took took car) to the hospital for my breasts sugery , being still stoned from the local anaesthesia ,I wonder how I would manage all that if my friend wasn't there .

The breast surgery was done on the same night, I woke up in pain and couln't move my upper body, the nurses r friendly but spoke minimal English, you are lucky if you could find one that could speak Malay.

Dr Nara came to the hospital the next day and had a look at me for about 5 minutes, said everything is fine. He said he won't be in the office for the next 5 days as he was going to Bangkok for some conference. That was the last time I saw Dr Nara.

My friend and I spent the next 2 nights in hotel room doing nothing, by third day I could start moving around but lifting anything heavier than 500g was still painful around my chest region. Come to think of it, I feel so lucky that I had a friend who took care of me and also there's no complication.

Getting PS done with Dr Nara is like going to "fast food surgery", you won't be getting much follow up care like other doctors that charge you 5 times more. I'd still regcomend him if you are in tight budget and yet you want good work done, but please bring a carer !!

If it's only the chin, then it should be fine. I don't know about others but I felt very vulnerable after surgery and anaesthesia, and being alone in a foreign small town .I can't do it by myself.

Dr Nara uses incision & suture technique which left minor scar around the lower lash line.I am very happy with the result though ,my eye bags r gone and still haven't come back after almost 3 years ,YET !

woah, thanks for posting, i have been wondering abt the eyebags... 3 years never come back, i can;t wait to do! :D

I agree abt the lack of post-op care; i did chin, eyelids and nose last year. Went nara alone... after op, they helped me call for cab, and i stumbled my way back to hotel, still wonder how i managed it! The next few days were worse, i had to care for myself, while at same time wondering if i was doing ok...

meanwhile, my fren went b4 me with another fren just to take care of her, think was much easier cos had someone to care for her, which is why i am looking for ppl to go with this time... i dun want to go alone again!

p.s: think nara changed nurses, when i first called, the nurses could barely converse in english, but when i finally went a few months later, the nurse could communicate decently enough in english

Hi,

I didn't remove the stiches til about 10 days later, which was done at a local clinic in KL. So You could imagine how awful I looked in the airports with bandages on the chin & stiches around the eyes. LOL...

But it's all worth it.
