How do you know all this?
And if hes certified with the board of plastic and reconstructive surgery why did they say he isnt?

If he had training in general surgery what was his subspeciality? Gastroenterology?

If you re keen to know so much into details, why dont u travel down to hatyai and ask Dr Nara directly, since u claim that you did question in yr email n they didnt reply.

Isnt it better SAMPAM???

If you still doubt about him, you can ask from
The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand
Office : Royal Golden Jubilee Building.(9th floor).
2 soi Soonvijai. New Petchburi Road,
Bangkok 10320. Thailand.
Tel 7166214,7166966 Fax 7166966
or e-mail to [email protected]

Dr. Nara is a specialist and a good doctor. Most of Doctors in Hadyai know him very well. If he hasn't a plastic sergery license, he can't open his clinic and advertise in front of clinic like that.

I dont think you understand. I am not in Singapore or malaysia or somewhere I can just go and see him on a bus or something. I would have to fly long haul and spend a bit just to get there. Im not just claiming that they didnt answer the question but can prove it since I have all the emails.

Ofcourse If I lived closer or could just get on a bus like some of you can then it would be excellent and I could see the clinic, facilities, doctor, staff etc EVERYTHING and then decide. But I cant which means it would cost me a bit to get there both in time and money and theres also the issue of getting time off from work so I can go there. Hence why I want all the info beforehand which is all I can do at this point.

I have even asked them to quote me on a total package to do everything under GA but still no answer to that either. They(staff) told me he does GA for BA and 10000THB for lipo but under local and I kept telling them I want it all done once so under GA in the hospital and they never quoted me anything and in email nothing either though they said he can do it.

Been wanting to get my nose reduced (tip and alar) for 8 years. Finally I saved about $1300. I'm planning to do the surgery at Tokai and have emailed Dr. Pat and waiting for his reply.

I was wondering some things:
1) What to bring there (3d2n stay) to reduce swelling the most?
2) For reduction surgery is there any packingor cast/bandage/splint? As I already have a high bridge.
3) What should I take note as I am going to BKK with my best gal fren.. we've both never been there before.. and i'm very scared but determined to do it.
4) When can I go home so its not obvious to my family I did my nose? I am used to covering redness with concealer (cuz i'm always pinching it).
5) How do i ask Dr. Pat for a cheaper price?

I really hope some of you out there who have had rhino reduction before can help me out.. I plan to go 7th May.

Thank you so much. to all of you in advance...
you've been saving since 12yo?! oh man, u r really determined :)

1) you can get hold of sineech before the surgery, will help u heal faster

2) yes, there is still a cast even if u not doing ur bridge

3) plan your flights and accomms well and bring enuff cash. if you're both girls, try not to get a hotel hidden in some alley, best if near the main road, safer that way. Most booking sites provide a small map of where the hotel is.

4) if u doing tip it's gonna take a while to heal. the stitches will require like 5 days or more b4 can remove. wun advise to use concealer while it's healing, in case u irritate the wound.

5) u have to consult boii18 on the bargaining bit :D
... for me, i cheated, i just emailed dr pat and said," you quoted me XXX previously for so-and-so surgery, is it still valid?" of cos, XXX has to be reasonable. Remember to quote XXX in baht for more authenticity. Gosh, can't believe I'm teaching u this :P

Good luck! :D

Thank you for your advice.. I was wondering about how long does it take to heal and when is the soonest I can fly back? Will I get sick after op (as in, cannot study after that)? What is the price range I should bargain for that isnt too extreme but possible to get and is more affordable? Also which hotel is in between Tokai and Airport and has some food, massage, simple shopping? I went to asiarooms but dont seem to be able to find.

Also, in Sineech available @ local pharmacies? Is it a pill or application drug...or?

Sorry for all my naive questions... I'm determined to do this in May.

Are you doctor Nara? Are you one of his staff? From your writing looks like maybe Thai??

I had already contacted them and the person I spoke to said no they dont have a record of him being certified. Hence why i stated that Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand and Society of Plastic Surgeons and Reconstructive surgeons of Thailand stated over the phone that they have no record of him.

And they also told me that In thailand ANY surgeon can practice COSMETIC plastic surgery and that many UNLICENSED/NOT BOARD CERTIFIED surgeons do that because there is no legal requirement for opening a clinic that offers such services. There is no law against it and many do it with nobody to check and nobody penalises them since they all are mostly surgeons anyways. They said SOME of those surgeons have RE-TRAINED and specialised with extensive training overseas and in thailand and hence can perform PS surgeries perfectly.

Im confused now and wondering how you know all this information if you arent him or one of his staff because this information is not available anywhere that I looked online. If you are him or part of his staff maybe you can reply to emails promptly and with full detail rather than skipping important questions and not quoting things like lipo under GA in the hospital.

Erm, u dont have to prove it. Cause most of us, as for me dont write him email, just called the clinic and make appointment, then plan for our trip there. I think they dont check their mails religiously and reply every enquiry post to them, so if this is how it works for Dr Nara's clinic , what can we do?

1st, wanted to find out more about Dr Nara's credentials, follow by now u claim that he dont reply emails, then what is going to be next?

Where are you from btw?

Mb i can suggest u to go look for a translator to call up the clinic to check your long list of quest in demand?

hmmm, Daran, is Nara Donsakul the name we search for? or is there a more formal name? Cos i realised the Thais use a shortened name sometimes.

Sampam, you've been searching for more info on dr nara, so why dun u talk to Daran privately to verify his sources and methods instead? This post seems a little confrontational. Just afraid it will cascade into another squabble.

does anyone know (or can make a guess) what type of surgeries dawn yang did on her eyes? her eyes back in 1997 and her eyes now look totally different. way bigger. (her eyes in 2002 and now also look a little different. or maybe it's just me.) i don't think just blepharoplasty + magic epi can achieve it, can they? from what i know, cutting double eyelids will only give the illusion of bigger eyes but her eyes are BIG now! (or was she squinting in the 1997 picture?)

Hi... hope that lazy, boii18 or aardvark, or anyone else who's done rhino @ Tokai could answer my questions.. can i fly back after 3 days? and which hotel is preferable to stay in? I will be doing my whole nose without any bone augmentation or implant.

Thank you to everyone.

Sampan ,

I doubt that's Dr Nara or his staffs , my impression of Dr Nara is he not a internet savvy men, he probably have no time sitting in front of the computer checking websites or emails. I also don't think he replies emails personally .

I am not trying to defend Dr Nara here, maybe it's true that he's just another "doctor" who's not board certified. You won't be impressed with his clinic, his facilities or even his communication style , if you are so used to the services of top surgeons ,you certainly don't have to waste your time dwelling on this one.

All I want to say is I had done my procedures with him and I am happy with the results,so are my other friends. It's no 5-star service and maybe he isn't qualified on the paper, but we took the risk and the results came out beautifully.

Don't get frustrated, there's always other board certified surgeons who are happy to provide you detailed infos on email, and the latest technology and facilities ,of course these will also come with a price tag.

If you think it's not worth taking the risk ,then don't.

erm.. i think no one here force u to go doctor Nara.. I have been reading your post and it can be quite irritating by asking and asking his qualifications and stuffs.. B4 u came it's like an exchanging/ sharing experience sessions here. Who cares abt the certs (only u do) when he is such an experience doctor?? My mum and sis or even alot of forumers came back satisfied with Dr. Nara's job. It only seems so that u wan cheap price yet scared, in the same time wants some "papers" to console urself.. If u wanna go, just go. Stop all the arguments here.. it's quite annoying..

francyn lay off! nobody here is arguing!

theres usually a reason why some can be so much cheaper etc than others.

I just spoke to Dr PAT at Tokai and he instantly knew of Dr Somyos Kunachak and said he is maybe best surgeon and very prestigious and skilled and a professor at top university and teacher of many surgeons and head of department in hospital. So as he said thats why he can do many nose cases etc that others cant because of his skills and experience etc.

Dr Pat however did quote me 120,000THB and so far thats the cheapest under complete GA because havent gotten anything from Nara price wise.

Alrite, i'm sorry..

But do u see where i'm coming from? He's already done so many successful cases perfectly. So does a cert really matter? Maybe he's helping everyone to turn beautiful..?

I believe he is doing out of goodwill. Alot of my thai aunties's nose/eyes were done by Dr. Nara and it's been 5yrs +.. it still seems os natural.. I'm not trying to promote neither do i have comission by promoting Dr. Nara. There could be another conclusion be me- by word of mouth he don't have to promote/ advertise like other Doctors do.. Thus saving the money to rebate to his customers
