hi there, so did your friend go ahead with the sugery? implant? hmm, wat are the complications? infection? or possibility of higher-then-usual nose bridge?
i didnt exactly ask very clearly, but the gist is that the doctor injected something to get the fillers out.

the doctor was muttering something about another patient who couldnt put implants cause she had fillers.

something about the quality of fillers matter as well.
oic, so was your friend satisfied with the results?

ya i agree local is pretty expensive... i can do a complete nose job over in taiwan with the price quoted by a local surgeon just for implant....

not so much the price which is the problem, but rather the skills...

seems okay. but then expectations differ for the individual really. think should be patient..might be better alternative.

i am back in singapore. will post a cropped photo of my nose on post-op day 2 night, in a few days.

im taking lots of rest now.. u really feel great to be back in singapore! ah, i took mocha frappe at black canyon cafe in bangkok international airport while wait for my flight. damn sian, because very long then check-in open ( maybe cos i kiasu arrive there so fast, haha!! ). once check-in was open it was quite swift. but feeling so damn tired cos nv sleep well past few days, fell aslp during the flight. hhaa.

my nose feels stuffy now. 1st day, 2nd day can breathe thru nose. 3rd day start to feel stuffy so i breathe by mouth. causes yr lips to be dry !!

pain is minimal.

no fever. temperature 36.2 today in singapore

nose still look fine, but keep changing shape ( tip and bridge ). i feel it is deviated slightly on the 2nd day. on 3rd day there is little deviation already, and my parents say it look straight.

tip has not de-swelled yet. maybe 10 percent.

doc agree that 80 percent swelling is gone in 6 wks..

i'm given a few medications... am taking tylenol ( paracetamol ) for pain. stopped the big-time painkillers as i asked doc if its ok to stop ( cause giddy ). i am now taking anti-inflammation, anti-histamine, and antibiotic.

@boii:
I am really happy to see that ATLEAST you seem to be pretty happy with your operation@Tokai. Probably because of a drammtic change by high nose bridge as nothing can be judged about nose-tip after the operation. (Nt sure if an implant can bring much joy though). I didnt get much swelling till 3rd or 4th day, so you may swell like a balloon later. Best remedy is ICE COLD SUPPRESSION and i guess you kinda know everything now. Make sure that you dont get any skin problem due to nose cast/splint though. Best of luck for your recovery.

My nose is still swollen at tip, but others are saying that it has changed a lot. The problem of unequal nostrils was indeed due to swelling and i dont think that i have that problem now. Only two days left and it will be four weeks for me.. Yipppeeeeeeeeeee!!

Oh I see. haha. Yes, i think its because of nicer alar and nicer nose bridge. The combined result is amazing! Cannot wait for nose tip to de-swell, but it will be long and hard process!!

This my 4th day.. Swelling and recovery so far has followed a monophasic course, but of course different pple have different results! Pain is definitely not monophasic, it get slightly worse on 2nd day and 3rd day but still minimal pain. Reason because I stop the strong painkillers. I think its swelling ! Because tip is the most deviated. But now its ok :)

I have a slightly asymmetrical tip and bridge on 1st and 2nd day upon close inspection. on 3rd day it seem to resolve by alot. my parents do not notice any asymmetry.

Ice cold suppression? How do I apply it.. I'm not too sure. I've nt been using icepacks... I have a cast on my nose..

My nostrils are very slightly unequal. Not visible unless under very close inspection. Think its cos of swelling. ANd besides, the stitches make it almost impossible to judge perfectly the symmetry.

Wish you all the best for your recovery from tip-plasty. 6 weeks for 80 percent of swelling!

Anyway question for you.. do you feel that your nose tip at the current moment is nicer/thinner/more projected than before the nose job?

Haha, Do tipplasty and the works there if you want. Virtually pain-free. Not sure about nara though. I'll be doing chin with nara end of this year. Hope its not that painful !!

Dr pat's surgery suite is VERY well equipped and his anesthesia is world-class!! XD

taxi is expensive. i take metered taxi and its expensive. laughs. and u do have to pay 40 baht to use the highway. haha.

my first hotel is not anywhere near tokai clinic. my first hotel is near those wholesale areas u tok abt pratunam ctr, etc. its called residence hotel. my friends and i were staying there. then today afternoon, my friends and i went to tokai clinic ( bring me there ) then subsequently sent me to my new hotel ( saranawan palace ) to stay tonight. this is because they are leaving on sunday night 11pm but i am leaving on monday morning 8am departure.

the saranwan palace is indeed near to tokai clinic, and i must say so far that service n food very good. i've arranged for airport transfer at 4 am. they will be driving their very own limousine to bring me there. very good, and even bring me to departure hall!!

overall the 2 hotel i stay. very good svc but i guess most hotel in thai are good :)

so far, saranwan palace ( 400 baht per nite oni ! budget hotel, but very nice and clean room, excellent food and near tokai clinic ) as well as "the residence" hotel ( arnd SGD 100+ per nite , much more large rooms, service less personalised, but good n big n clean , nearby wholesale ctrs etc, but however far from tokai clinic ). oh guys, if you want to go to saranwan palace. do yourself a favor. please cross over to the other side of the road, if not taxi driver have to make a u-turn which costs around 100 baht because of long stretch of road before able to make u-turn. if there is no u-turn, distance b/w saranwan palace and tokai clinic is ONLY 5 mins.
hee.. mabe the taxi driver tinks u r "cai-tao"... bkk taxi is soo freaking cheap! is the hotel near tesco lotus at on nut station? i took a cab frm outside tokai n the cab went thru the long road, did a u-turn to bring me to tesco lotus.. only slightly more than 40 baht. from tokai i took bac to my apartment in sathorn (other side of bkk), it was only 110 baht incl the 40 baht toll.. muz be u look so handsome wif ur new nose that the taxi drivers tink u r "cai tao" la hee :)

the hotel is indeed cheap.. less than 20 bucks sgd per nite. does it come wif free breakfast? is the airport transfer service free?
ermmm haha. not too sure. do cross over from the tokai clinic side to the other side pls if you want to take taxi however, to saranwan palace! the taxi amounted to 160 baht because of the u-turn!! we took lots of taxi, i think the total taxi fare we have amounted to 500 baht or around 25 SGD. haha. Quite ok le!! singapore i think ar... base on distance probbably 100 sgd. lol.

no lah, what is cai tao? i look so bird-like cos of the cast on my nose.

first hotel ( the residence ) yes breakfast is free... at "The crescendo". Just show your room key. Its very nice. Buffet style.. Eat as much as you want !! xD

second hotel ( saranwan palace ) is cheap and no breakfast. I did airport transfer at 200 baht. The taxi took me to Entrance 2 since I am taking tiger airways back home. Taxi took around 15 mins. Very fast, since early morning I travel. Arnd 4am.

yunli wrote:wah! you sound so so happy with the results.

which is wonderful! another good review for dr pat=)
Haha, the final result is not apparent yet. What I did is alarplasty, tipplasty and rhinoplasty. Alarplasty and Rhino the result is roughly there already.. just bit of swell. Tipplasty results will take very long to show! And we also have to look at scar recovery and possible future complication as well.

But, so far whatever I can rate at tokai is as follows :

pre-op consultation : 8 / 10
( you have to ask questions and show what you want, doctor would not do much explaining. doc can allocate 30 mins to 1 hour for you to shoot away. no communication breakdown, as doctor has moderately good english )

service quality : 8 / 10
( problems with communication with nurse, but the nurses know basic english not to worry :) the nurses do care for the patients and want the best outcome for you. the 5 nurses in the operating theatre were very helpful and nice . doctor is gentle in the operation as far as i can tell, and is courteous and approachable )

anesthesia : 10 / 10
while diff pple may experience diff results, i give it 10/10 due to minimal pain ( its MUCH less painful than jaw botox or non surgical chin augmentation ), and zero side effects ( no nausea, no hallucinations, no extreme nervousness, little memory of procedure .. its all very fuzzy and semi-conscious . i had twilight sleep, otherwise known as local anes. with sedation. )

equipment and sterile environment : 9.5/10
( very clean very bright very equipped very spacious operating suite. weird thing is that the operating suite has two trolley beds )

i'm also going to tokai in june for tipplasty :)
thanks for updating us about your procedure and the recovering details to let us understand more :) cos i think so far not that many people are doing tipplasty hahas.

you're gonna more good looking alreadies! :)
haha, yeah i loveee my new nose.

I didn't do tipplasty alone, and i'm not too sure about the final result especially of tipplasty, but overall i have a good outlook. especially encouraged since the doctor and nurse told me the operation is very good. but wonder why it took a total 3 hour 15 mins instead of the 2 hours which is the norm. haha. time really flies under anesthesia. and you get amnesia of the events that occur on the op. theatre. its all a blur. you are so certain that you are semi-conscious DURING the op, but AFTER the op, its all so vague and blur. Unless you make an effort to memorize what is happening, you will NOT recall what happened.

oh, going in june. haha. all the best !! :) hope that my nose will show continue to improve and develop good result and hope no complications to encourage you guys further.

In end of year, i'll be doing chin at Nara because my projected nose would fit it better with a more projected chin ( mine is underprojected ). do not think will be visiting tokai anytime soon, maybe for check-up and to say "hi" if i have the money ^^
