Just update everyone. 2nd day now. and i take off the cast at dr's clinic to see. and also at dr's clinic they help me clean the wounds.

i arrived at tokai clinic at 12 noon. promptly, saw dr pat.

he then remove my nose.. i was so nervous.. he took the cast out gently and then voila can tell that he was quite satisifed with my nose.. he ask.. have you seen your nose.. i say no... then he take mirror for me to see... and its very nice!! very sharp n defined compared to the past and it match my face many many times nicer. the bridge also higher quite obvious from side view. front view big difference too cos tip is elevated.

i then look at full-length mirror, also very nice, very sharp and much better than before..

doc says i have little swelling. but he agree with me 80 percent of the swelling will be gone in 6 weeks. as i have done tipplasty, my tip is slightly bulbous now ( swollen ) but still overall my nose is much nicer than before. totally unexpected. i expected some scary shit to be staring straight back at me. what i see is a very "smart" nose as dr pat describe to me *laughs*

ahh.. luckily i have a beautiful beautiful nose finally... then dr. brief me about the post-op care and i asked some questions.. he say 10 days or more , then remove cast is the best. everyday have to remove cast to clean wound 2 times daily however. he say that stich can be removed at 10 days or more, the longer the stitch n cast are on, the better.

i thank the doc and am very pleased.. he also very pleased haha.. very good.. he told me will give me one more antibiotic shot just in case, ask me when i going back singapore, and he prepare a letter for the singapore doc to let them know i did rhinoplasty.

i am so happy!

oh, then i was left to the nurses who showed me personally how to clean the wounds. the nurse very friendly, and i kinda could feel they genuinely care and concerned about me. i told the nurse i was very very happy and i also chatted about other stuff.. she say alot of singaporean go tokai clinic ! wakakaka. anyway, i say no pain. very good very good nose, and say that the nurses and Dr very good. then she say... i no pain, but she pain.. ( i guess cos she operated too, and the blood etc is quite scary sight ).. i was then given antibiotic shot by the nurse ( doctor has gone for lunch )

anyway i will definitely drop by the clinic again in e future, if not for plastic surgery is just to say hi to the nurse and doctors. haha.

the left me a very very nice nose, very thankful.

i was offered to write a testimonial and i wrote 2 full pages. haha.

i am very happy with my new nose. the 2 friends ( not doing P.s) who come with me also say sharper now and nicer.

i will show after pictures once i have arrived back in singapore. however, do note that front view is usually not obvious, esp with the post-op swelling in my case. however, i can tell in real life, its VERY distinct. i was VERY shocked. i expected some mediocre result , you know, slight improvement. what i saw was.... in my eyes, perfect.

boii18 u were saying ur hotel is near the wholesale ctr n shopping areas.. wic wholesale ctr? hee.. i wanna go chk it out later cos i'm staying in bkk now. din knw got wholesale ctr n shopping ctrs near tokai. i only knw wholesale ctr pratunam n platinum wic is quite a distance from tokai... oh man new places for me to shop.. yippee!

btw ppl yday i went to pruksa clinic at rama iv for ipl treatment... cheap n good! about half the price compared to tat in sg... tis clinic is recommended by my thai colleague. she also recommended romrawin clinic. they do smartlipo too. n for tummy it's 45k baht only! i paid 40k baht for arm lipo at tokai n my arms r still chunky n fat now... :(
taxi is expensive. i take metered taxi and its expensive. laughs. and u do have to pay 40 baht to use the highway. haha.

my first hotel is not anywhere near tokai clinic. my first hotel is near those wholesale areas u tok abt pratunam ctr, etc. its called residence hotel. my friends and i were staying there. then today afternoon, my friends and i went to tokai clinic ( bring me there ) then subsequently sent me to my new hotel ( saranawan palace ) to stay tonight. this is because they are leaving on sunday night 11pm but i am leaving on monday morning 8am departure.

the saranwan palace is indeed near to tokai clinic, and i must say so far that service n food very good. i've arranged for airport transfer at 4 am. they will be driving their very own limousine to bring me there. very good, and even bring me to departure hall!!

overall the 2 hotel i stay. very good svc but i guess most hotel in thai are good :)

so far, saranwan palace ( 400 baht per nite oni ! budget hotel, but very nice and clean room, excellent food and near tokai clinic ) as well as "the residence" hotel ( arnd SGD 100+ per nite , much more large rooms, service less personalised, but good n big n clean , nearby wholesale ctrs etc, but however far from tokai clinic ). oh guys, if you want to go to saranwan palace. do yourself a favor. please cross over to the other side of the road, if not taxi driver have to make a u-turn which costs around 100 baht because of long stretch of road before able to make u-turn. if there is no u-turn, distance b/w saranwan palace and tokai clinic is ONLY 5 mins.

You still have cast on? You should take care and stay indoors for proper healing as bangkok is so polluted. Be careful of infection. do people stare at u when you are out?

The taxius are cheap but they cheat like crazy!! Make sure they runtghe METER! Also I found the BTS really good.......fast and cheap.

I want to have surgery soon!
haha taxis are not cheap !! even if run by meter !! oh ya, be CAREFUl when u step out of airport, u will be greeted by lots of non-meter "lllegal" taxi which charge VERy expensive to farang. haha. he charge us 400 baht intead of 200 baht by meter !!

no la, the places in bkk i went so far are not polluted :) sth lyk singapore. no idea why. haha. yes, saranwan palace is not polluted too, as it is in the less developed region i guess!

yes, pple do stare at me when go out! i had my surgery on saturday morning. on sat nite, i went out to eat. and everyone all stare at me, some of them even give long stares!! damn. and on today morning i went to shop with my friend, got lots of stares too. anyway do make sure u are with somebody, else u mite get robbed? cos you are vulnerable wat... if you have done a nose job.

suuz wrote:In BKK i take the bus...if you know how they operate it is the cheapest way. For longer distances like going to the weekend market i take bus + the skytrain.

Bus only like 7 baht per drive...Get a blue busmap and you are the king. It is 25 baht for the aircon busses, there is an airport bus aswell it costs 150 baht and takes you to several dropoff places in the city, you just go straight to the front when you get out of the airport as the bus is there at the front, before the taxyboots. You explain there were you wanna go and they will inform you if the dropoff is any handy.

From the airport you can also take the local bus. Take the shuttlebus (it is free) to the busstation, just wave one down you will be between local, takes a few minutes. There you can take bus 551 to victory Monument (35 to 50 baht), every half hour- takes 1 hour to get there, from there i take local bus to Democracy monument (Banglampu) (6 baht as it is the small green wooden bus)

Boiii please can you then tell me if i should bargain hard on the prices quoted? I just wanna know because there are proces vary from 400 to 800 usdollar on their site. Just please give me some direction, i won't slam them with deals they made in the past, just to know bargainwise.

(my sister always says that the streetstuff like on the weekendmarket or on Thanon Kao San to bargain like 90% but from experience i know that when you get 60% off you are very lucky and if you get 40% off that is the standard rate - well for clothes) BTW i have also bargained inside the departmentstores and sometimes get a discount, just ask en beg.

maybe the area you stayed was near SIAM square? It is great there the MBK departmentstore bought VANS sneakers there for 900 baht , here they are 4 times as expensive.
BTW there is a postoffice on the airport that is open 24/7 you can send parcels there if your luggage become too far overweight, for the same price as town postoffice prices.
haha no time to research. and do you want to take the risk when you have had a complex face surgerY? haha. thats for u to decide.. taxi is by far the MOST efficient way of getting around rather cheaply.

yes, you can bargain well. haha. some of them they quote prices very high to foreiginers, and so there is lots of leeway to bargain. hey, probably your best bet is to learn abit of thai and pretend to be a local! =X

oh, regarding to tokai, yes you can bargain a little haha. you can bargain at the doc's if you want haha, but if you bargain at doc, it depends. cos its lyk...u travel all the way to tokai to do surgery. irregardless of the price he quote u're going to do it right? haha. 8-)

i have same problem like you last year.but i wait about 3 months in order to the filler will gone by the age of filler.maybe you know how long the filler will be gone by the blood distribution.then after that you can decided to doing rhinoplasty.maybe...
oh.. so did you undergo the surgery?? u did implant or alarplasty? er, if i were to do it in may, it would have been 5 mths post-filler. however, my brand can lasts 12-18 mths as stated on the website.

hi there, so did your friend go ahead with the sugery? implant? hmm, wat are the complications? infection? or possibility of higher-then-usual nose bridge?

thanks for your input... so you are also suggesting that nothing be done for now? But i really wish to undergo a nose job in may... can still feel a bit of the filler along my nose bridge but not a lot... so only the nose bridge be exceptionally high but no complications expected?

sigh... im the impatient sort and really regretted injecting filler now.
can still do la, but i mean it wld be difficult for surgeon to determine how high to make ur bridge cos he has to know what the natural state looks like, and the filler may cause judgement error.

if he make the bridge too low, then u next time dun like might have to revise again, wun it be more trouble? i think wait it out better, patience :D
okie. so implant is definitely before alar?

i didnt exactly ask very clearly, but the gist is that the doctor injected something to get the fillers out.

the doctor was muttering something about another patient who couldnt put implants cause she had fillers.

something about the quality of fillers matter as well.

now im contemplating to decide on local or taiwan dr chuang. how do you rate the end results from dr nara?
