Update about my nose:

Swelling on my nose is still there, but its not much signficant that people will freak out. (Though, my friends can still judge that something has happened to my nose). Today, my friend pointed out during a conversation that why one of my nostrils is a bit smaller than other. I didnt care much at that time, but after seeing it in mirror I got paranoid.. I will still wait for few more weeks to see whether it gets fixed by its own. (For sure, its a weird problem)

May be its because of swelling, but for sure this surgery has not given me what i wanted. I know i am very impatient person but I can clearly see that results are horribly far from my anticipation. My satisfaction so far - Zero, Zilch, Nada, Nunca!!

('m so pissed off!!)

@Adarvark,

One question for you.. for how long did you feel bit uncomfortable after chin-augmentation? I feel bit stretched and mildly painful while smiling, having a big bite or yawning.. (Its has been three weeks for my PS though, shouldnt it be quite normal now?)

oh..i just was wondering since for rhino, its like you wake up and bingo! new nose..

but if you are doing double eyelids at same time...do you need to be awake to blink your eyes or something..

saw this video on double suture method..does sound rather convincing!!

the one dr nara does is the normal stitching/suture method?

would appreciate answers very very very much..so sick of looking so oriental. sigh

it was still tender for up to like 2 mths plus, but mine was done from inside the mouth... my chin was a bit long for a while, think took half a yr to finally shrink to an acceptable size to me... before that i always felt i look like the joker from batman

one disadvantage of having a chin implant, u r not allowed to grow fat! cos when i did cheek lipo the other time, my whole face swelled up but my chin still stuck out as a very defined bit, definitely not very real-looking if ur face balloons!

i heard tt tipplasty being soft tissue surgery will heal longer than other aspects of nose surgery which deal with the bone aspects such as osteotomy to reduce nose bridge width ( bony union is achieved at 6 weeks ). i hear that our cartilage do not receive blood and thus they are pretty well much on their own when it comes to healing. soft tissue does not de-harden completely until 1 year. this includes alarplasty. most p.s. suggest that in complete rhino ( or soft tissue rhino ) , semifinal results occur at 3 months, and complete results only occur at year 1 or year 2.
lip lift (somyos) - sept09, eyes, lip redn in taipei - dec09

nara does cutting to remove the fats, then stitch back, but of cos this is more invasive, so healing time will take longer

Here's a useful site : http://www.therhinoplastycenter.com/centerideal.html
Its the universally accepted guidelines to nose aesthetics. ( i.e. for all races )

my evaluation :

- trimming of alar since i have thick and wide alar ( rule of the fifths ), other surgery suggests are epicanthoplasty to increase eye width
- position the alar upward because i have hanging alar ( alar should not cover the columella from the side view )
- my nasofrontal angle is perfect at 125 degrees
- nasofacial angle is grossly incorrect as 45 degrees due to my weak chin. it will be 36 degrees ( ideal ) if i undergo chin implant as well as increase tip height - nasiofacial angle is to do with tip projection in relation to the chin
- if my chin cannot be extended so much, my lips can be reduced so that lips are behind the nasomental line
- mentocervical angle is not sharp ( is acute ) due to my weakly-projecting chin. this can be increased by chin implant
- nasolabial angle at 90 degrees which is barely in the ideal range. 90 degrees, with ideal range being 90 to 120 degrees
lip lift (somyos) - sept09, eyes, lip redn in taipei - dec09

one more thing, for asians, the nose bridge should start at the upper eyelash line or lower. :) a high nose bridge isnt necessarily a good thing as our nose bridge grows higher as we age, so it might make you look a tad older. but the thing is, with the high nose bridge your front view will be nicer, cos sharper nasal ridge

Mederma is a cream for scars.
i bought mine in Guardian in JB, i tink sg should have too. about RM30 for the small tube. Only used it for 2 days so far so cant say much about the result yet.
I did 2 lipo in spore and I used Mederma..it does help to smopoth out scars but my doc said it is actually just a very good moistuiser but it is still good to help the skin to recover faster if u moisturise it well....

most prob in December this year or april during my school hols or BOTH! :P .

but im still a PS virgin, a little uncertain, still reading up,
do you guys have any sources to before and after photos done by yanhee/ nara surgeons?
I am also considering gtg to either Yanhee or Nara but I read a few comments abt Nara that patient actually woke up during the lipo and it is really painful. So did u do yr lipo at Yanhee? Is the results good? Was it painful during the procedure? sorry for so many questions as I am really worrried. thanks.

can we choose what implant we want?

Do you need to come back to see Dr. Nara after 7-10 days of post operation?

and when we're staying for one night in hospital, can someone stay over with us for accompanion?

Thanks!
You can choose to have either silicone or saline. He only uses round implants. He will explain to you the pros and cons of both , and also where you want the incisions to be.

You can have someone staying with you in the hospital, there's an extra bed in the room, and a tv too.

I only saw Dr Nara once after the op (the next day),I went back to KL on the third day post op. Removed stiches on the 5th day in KL.

Who can help to remove the stiches for u? I thought doc wont do it if you didnt the surgery with them?
