Will also be doing alarplasty & eyebag removal in hatyai at dr nara's in mar 2008.

Have done at dr nara, dbl eyelid, nose, and chin before, so can vouch for his professionalism, not to mention his world's lowest prices...

anyone interested in any of the trips? just seeking company. Went for PS alone the other time and it was downright depressing to be swollen and alone...

*edited: everyone has been seeking info on how to contact Nara and how to get to his clinic, so I've edited this first post to include all the info.

Hi Aardvark

I understand that you had dimples done by Dr Nara. Are you happy with the results? Did you get both cheeks done? Did the dimple(s) show when you smile?

Hi Beanbean

You will need to consult a plastic surgeon in regards to your expectations. I had mine done at Dr Martin Huang in Paragon. Abit costly, but he is very good, no bruising, recovery was very quick. There were no ripples on the skin either. Had to wear compression garment for approx 2 weeks. I noticed a great difference immediately in my body shape after lipo. I am a slim person but had fat deposits in unwanted areas.

i wore it when i was at home, didn't wear it when i went out, but of cos i didn't go out oftn since face was so swollen. Natural to have one side more swollen, same thing happened to me. I wore it till most of the swelling was gone, this is to prevent loose skin that might form without compression. hmmm, i avoided seafood until i was fully recovered, because I had infection for my chin implant in dec 06, and din dare risk it anymore

at first they are there whether you smile or not, had to cover up with plaster else it looked damn odd. Now it only appears when i smile but still slightly deep, but it gets shallower as time goes by so i'm waiting for it to become very natural.

but i'm a slow healer, daybreakk did dimples at nara too, and he says his are disappearing!

I got my surgery done at TOKAI Clinic yesterday - Tipoplasty and Chin Augmentation..

After getting over the shock of finding TOKAI clinic at very a weird place, I met Dr. Pat after an hour or so. I did all the paper work required.
It took me lotta time to explain him about what i want. Much to my amusement, he doesnt suggest much.. Staff and Dr. Pat told me that my nose actually looks very nice, but i told him to make it little bit longer and thin tip

The only frustation i had at Tokai was that staff can not understand English well.. I had to communicate using Hand gestures, pictures and all..
My operation started at 12:15 pm and continued till nearly 3pm.. During the operation i was awake... YES!! you read it right.. i woke up near 1pm itself when they were doing my chin augmentation and during my entire tipoplasty operation i was awake with my wide open eyes.. I was not scarred as i had a open wound surgery before., but most aggravating was that nobody was talking in English and i had no idea what was happening.. At that very moment, I realized whether i have done a blunder.. I endured the pain during the operation except once when they were cutting my skin and its was not numb at all and I totally freaked out and told Doctor to inject some local anathes... My eyes were wide open and was talking to doctor about few things like not to hold my face from chin.. Dr kept telling things like - just a moment, dont cry (what the hell.. i wasnt crying at all).. they ultimately closed my eyes with a tape so that i cannt see things.. (i still think that it was really weird on their part to do so as i could still see the things partially..)
During my rhino, they kept moving my face by holding from my chin (and i just had chin augmentation.. WTF!!), but somehow i managed to bear all the pain..

Staff@Tokai asked me my choice of soup and gave me some medicines after the soup.. I kept bleeding during the remaining day and in the night.. The minor bleeding is still happening..

Today, I went back to Tokai clinic for cleaning the wounds and saw my nose first time.. and i hated it.. (My original nose was much better than this). When I asked about it to Dr. Pat, he told me to have patience and wait for few weeks before concluding.. (But i am very sure that this is not the nose i wanted.. i am really afraid of meeting my fellas and friends)..

My suggestions:

- I am overwhelmed with the humility shown by Tokai Staff..
- Its really frustating sometimes that they dont understand simple English.. before going to Tokai either get a THAI friend or have a great deal of patience..
- Do not try to bear the pain during operation, you need to tell doctor. I was pretty stupid in bearing all that operation
- Ask doctor about post surgery care, medicine and food etc..
- Donot see mirror too many times after surgery as it wont bring any joy but depression and melancholy..

.. I will keep you all posted about my progress.. now I have two tough weeks ahead..)

hi all. I am new here.i have read about the nose surgery at Nara and is really tempted. But i am afraid of the infections that several forum-ers face. So will like to know more about it?and whether it is painful?and how long it takes to recover?(that means that i cant go anywhere during the recovery period right?)

and can i fly to thai in the day and go back to sg at night? anyway can pm me the pics of the nose(before and after) as im scared that it is very fake.
Lastly, is it true that you cant touch or bend your "new" nose and there is a risk that it will be crooked?
thank you all!

aadvark : best of luck!! do keep us updated on your progress post-op! :)

inferno : i guess you have to be patient.. rhinoplasty and tipplasty results do not stabilise until at least one month later due to the intense swelling.. even then theres 20 percent left to de-swell... but its quite scary that they didnt inject you with enough general anesthestic and sedative.. do update us with before-after pics in a few weeks time!

Inferno: it muz be realli horrifying to witness the entire procedure. i was also veri shocked at the location of the clinic and the place being so run-down. it was reali hard to communicate with the nurses. i tried to ask abt post op care and itz like chicken tokking to duck. in the end i gave up.

i was totali terrified at the operating theatre. i have veri long, thick n permed hair and it was all over the place. i tried to ask the nurse to wear a shower cap for me n i even resorted to pointing to the shower cap on their heads but no one seemed to attend to my request. in the end i din knw hw they managed to get my hair away frm my face (or they juz left it flying ard) in the midst of the op cos i was alrdy placed under GA. so in a way i'm glad i din witness it bt come to tink of it, i was placing myself at high risk of getting infections.

if i were to go bac time, i wld nt hv done it at tokai. i paid 40k baht for arm lipo by saline. bt if i were to go siamswan or other clinics in town, it wld only be 50k n itz by smartlipo wic i've done before n the whole process is so much fuss free n recovery is so much easier.... :(

oh ya btw.. she gave me campbell soup after the op.. it was so hot n salty! i did buccal fat pad removal n there was no way i cld put that hot n salty stuff into my mouth.. *ouch*!

Adonz: I can totally understand you.. i have been through a lot there but i will still say that i found staff there really humble and nice.. and helped me a lot..

I asked Dr. Pat about my nose and he said that i never told him to make it thin, rather he has made it bit smaller and I was like WTF!!
I think that i have got a bit piggy nose now which i didnt have earlier.. i am really really very unhappy right now. As boii18 suggested it takes time to see results after nose surgery, however I am sure that a few weeks of wait wont bring much joy to me. I definitely need a revision surgery later to alter my so called new piggy nose..

Before surgery, i discussed with Dr. Pat about giving me dissolvable stitches but after surgery i came to know that he HAS NOT given my dissolvable stitches.. He told me to come to Tokai clinic tommorrow for wound cleaning and all and Perhaps Dr. Pat is going to remove my chin stiches and put dissolvable stitches now (i dont think that i am going to do that.. One is enough for me)

My honest suggestion to all is that DONOT go alone to a foreign land for surgery.. its not only bit depressing, its kinda troublesome sometimes to talk to people.. i have been communicating to people using Pen and Paper so far.. (Just imagine that i wanted to have ICE Pack(Cold pack) from pharmacy and nobody could understand English.. so i had to ask people on the road to help me. For sure i am having a TERRIFIC time here!! Grrrr)..
