i just came back frm HDY last nite...I had my rhinoplasty and alarplasty done on sat 16th Feb...

The overall procedure was less painful than I thought...once I was administered the LA and Dr Nara measuring the implant against my nose, I actually felt asleep. The next thing I woke up, he was alrdy stitching me and done :)

Once the LA wears off, the pain is there and I took a painkiller as prescribe by the nurse...now my face is swollen like a battered victim :???: eyes are puffy and small and nose is like 2X my normal size...which I believe will deswell by this weekend..

Only thing is have to endure the stares that u will get when u are on ur way home

congrats snowss! i hope it heals well, mind your health during recovery stage, lots of vitamins and remember ur antibiotics!

no bandage for the nose, the rhino stitches are dissolvable and inside the nostril while the alarplasty stitches are just at the base of the nose

Lazy wrote:Hey peeps,

I know this post is long overdue but I rarely have access to internet and bogged down by lots of stuff.

Anyway, I just want to comment on my experience with Tokai clinic.

Initially, I hated the nose and fretted over how ugly I look and so on. I even started to distrust Dr Pat's skills because my nose looked so abnormal for the first month and there was even a lump in my nose.

HOWEVER, now that two months have passed, I must say the results are fantastic!!! People are commenting that I have grown better looking but none suspected the nose job! That is because it looked sooooo natural yet enhanced my look!

Now, I must really share that I am tremendously impressed with Dr Pat's skill but those who are going to do it, be prepared to look "weird and ugly" for the first 6 weeks! Ok in my case, it was 6 weeks before the beautiful results showed!

Good luck to all those who are going ahead with their cosmetic surgery.
so glad to hear from you! :D i'm going to get my jaw implants done this march, and i was contemplating to do at tokai, but what was holding me back was the lack of testimonials from tokai so far cos you and I are the first 2 in the forum to have done it there! lol :D

my lipo has healed quite nicely, and now that i know that your nose has recovered properly, i feel so much safer to go there for some more procedures...

Dr Pat just replied my mail and ask me to send him sample pics to show him what i want, oh goodie :D

maggieee: there is no bandage...there is a small plaster pasted at near the base of my nose after surgery...next day can take off liao. I placed cold compress.

aadvark: Thanks...everyday i have been eating fish, vitamin C, birdnest and my antibiotics too...Today the swelling is better than yesterday...

I realised too that my nostils have become smaller too...like the diameter of my baby finger...which is like a bit problem if I were to clear my nose in the future :? At last I can see the bridge on my nose....i can say bye-bye to my jackie chan nose le

Hi Lazy,
It's nice to hear that. BTW, how is your lump now? Deswell?
I am having the same lump and had just completed my 2weeks antibiotics. My nose is no longer red and swollen but the lump is still there.
This was my 2nd time having infection and very worry about the lump now.

Hey snowss im oso interested in doing cheek implants leh... but i maybe not going to nara's for that ... becos i wanna do medpor implants with screws to secure the implant ( at dr chuang ) so that it will not tend to move as much as silicone =) how about you?

EDIT: sigh ... im now in a dilemma. I emailed dr nara and he quoted me S$700 for both sides ... but done with goretex ( i dunno how stable it is compared to chuang's method =/ ) . very tempting lo ... compared to chuang's S$4000 quote...

it's for a more defined jaw, or even to get squarish jaws to look more "guy". Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have both got it done before, just look at their b4-after pix :D
