I went for otoplasty n chin lipo with him 2 weeks back and I initally asked for GA also but he doesnt recommend it and he put me under LA and sedative. (sleep throughout also)
I did some research myself and found that it's better and safer to be under LA rather than GA.
Thanks for the information!(:
so he would inject the numbing medicine into your face first?
or he straight away put you under LA then inject numbing medicine or he won't inject then numbing medicine at all? (:
Sorry I've got alot to ask =X

btw if i plan to do alar+ rhino + chin aug + dbl eyelid+ epi + lateral at one go, is it still preferred to still go under LA?

Thanks(:

Firstly, he inject sth into my wrist area.
I didnt fell asleep right after that.
Then, He started cleaning my face with alcohol.
After that, he did injection under my chin(the side).
It was so painful that I screamed.
And I lost consciousness right after the second jab was injected into the middle of my chin.

Yea I think so.
You can double cmf with him but if I'm not wrong, he will still do under LA.
And from my personal point of view, I will suggest doing abit by abit first, so that it wont be so taxing on your body as it needs to heal so many wounds.
But then again, thats just what I think and I do understand that it's more economically-wise to get everything done at once. :)

By the way, I'm gg for double eyelid+epic in dec. :)

Hi noranau, a friend and I just returned from Hatyai. We had our surgeries done at Dr Chi's clinic. Both of us had buccal fat removal done, and I had liposuction done at several areas.
Buccal fat removal is a relatively simple process as you may have already read through research online. Dr Chi is a nice and patient man, and like another forumer mentioned above, he does not pressure you into doing any procedure at all and patiently answers any questions and doubts you might have as accurately as he can. Having never done any form of surgery before, we both felt very at ease when he did not attempt to paint the prettiest picture despite our concerns, but set the realistic expectations with us instead.
Knowing that we had only 3 days in Hat Yai, he scheduled our ops as priority so we could have ample rest prior to the flight back. We had the surgery done on Wednesday night right after the consultation itself, and the next morning.
We were put under LA and sedation. The surgery took an hour to complete and was painless (was asleep before being given the LA).
The one thing that did appall us was that right before the surgery, we were told to wash our own face (with shokubutsu kiwi facial foam) and rinse our mouths (with listerine) provided in the clinic. I guess we kinda expected something that feels more 'clinical' and 'op worthy' instead of these over-the-counter products? I was also not very pleased with one of the nurses as she wasnt very professional and skilled when trying to insert the IV catheter as she couldn't find my vein and caused bad bruises on both my wrists.

Anyway, our worries were uncalled for. Dr Chi applied antiseptic lotion all over our faces prior to the op and was very professional, gentle and caring throughout. Before you know it you'll be done with the op. If you don't have a friend with you to take you back to your hotel, a nurse will escort you back.

The day we were scheduled to leave we popped by the clinic again to have the nurse look in on our wounds just to confirm we're healing ok. They were more than happy to entertain us.

All in all we were very pleased with the service and care provided given than it is a fuss-free basic clinic in Hat Yai. At that cost there was nothing more we could ask for. If you are searching for a surgeon in Hat Yai I would strongly recommend Dr Chi.
It is now 4 days post-op and we are healing very well. Swelling and pain has subsided to a bare minimum and we're starting to have a glimpse of the outline of what the possible results could be. Very excited and looking forward to the 2-week mark to see the final results of the surgery.

Hope the above info is helpful :)

Thank you very much! That was extremely helpful! How early in advance did you book an appointment with Dr. Chi? I am planning to be in Thailand on the 8th next month but have yet been able to get a hold of him to make an appointment. Dr. Nara was booked until December so I hope this isn't the case as well with Dr. Chi. Lastly, if I do call him, do I have to call between 5pm-7pm on a weekday? Such strange operating hours...

Somehow Dr Chi isn't as packed as Nara so it's relatively easy to get a slot. I'm pretty sure he'll have a slot for you if it's next month provided he's not out of town or anything like that (rumors on this forum are that he's moving to Phuket?)
Anyway I had alot of trouble getting email responses from Dr Chi as well, so I am guilty of calling the clinic and bombing the nurses several times :/
The nurses won't be able to answer your medical queries, but they can assist in scheduling and appointment for you.
Remind them that you've been trying to email Dr Chi to no avail and they'll convey the message to him. He'll reply after that :)

Pissed.
The earliest I can fly over is on 24 Dec but the airfare is ridiculously over-priced during the last two weeks of dec!
Jetstar charging one way S$300.
I'm not gg to pay that kind of fare.

Hi All,

I have done PS in SG before for Buccal fat and double chin. Turned out well but cost a bomb! Would like to try Dr.Chi for Rhino and Eyebag removal.

If anyone has done these kindly drop me a PM or mail with pics as I would like to see the before and after if you don't mind. [email protected]

I inquired with Bumrungrad hospital in BKK and it costs 100,000Bht for the rhino itself. What is the estimated cost with Dr.chi for the above mentioned surgeries.

Thanks beforehand for any help :)

Can tell me more about buccal fat pad removal and lipo by dr chi?
For buccal fat, can you see the results straight away or it will it swell very badly ?Any sitches ? Pain factor out of 10?
For lipo did u keep discharging fluid out of the incision area like dr Nara's lipo?
Thanks !

For buccal fat, u won't see any results on the spot. In fact the swelling only gets worse and slowly starts subsiding day 4 onwards (of course that depends on individual - I stopped alcohol 3 days before, smoking 1 day before the op. Was also prepped with arnica before and bromelain after the op. Very strict diet of just fish/veg and minimal sodium). It is day 7 for me and I look like my normal self pre-op, believe the swelling will go down further as time passes.
Stitches will be intra-oral so you won't see anything externally. There's no pain at all, just major discomfort. If anything, the pain is when u attempt to open your mouth too widely or chew anything too solid. Both my friend and I survived on an almost liquid diet for the first 2 days at least, or very soft foods (horfun soup, porridge etc). Having said that, you should attempt to 'push it' within reasonable limits in terms of 'exercising' your mouth as I realized it helped improve my oral movements really significantly as compared to my friend who was too afraid to move her mouth much at all.

As for lipo, Dr Chi does it with closed incisions so there's no drainage at all. Not sure if he does open-drainage but you can check with him (I read online that open drainage helps u deswell faster but I've never tried so have no idea). At day 7, I've deswelled a little and look more or less like myself pre-op. Bruises are subsiding very quickly and are mostly just yellowish now with the exception of a few spots. However it still feels very sore at the lipo-ed parts especially when I don't move around much for the day or if I'm not in my compression garment.

If you're having multiple procedures like me (buccal removal + lipo of arms, lateral chest, inner thighs, upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles), my suggestion is to stay there for at least 5 days.
As I only stayed for 3 days, Dr Chi had to split all my areas into two sessions only (buccal, upper+lower abdomen, love handles for the first evening after consultation, and inner thigh, arms, lateral chest at 11am the next morning). With the max sedation he could give me, I still woke up midway during the surgery during both my ops.
Apparently I was crying and begging them to stop/put me back to sleep on the 1st day but I can't remember until the nurses told me the next day. I do remember however feeling intense pain back at the hotel and had to get out of my garment to even sleep.
During the 2nd session I woke again, this time I remembered not crying, but attempting to watch them lipo my arm but a nurse had to dedicate herself to pushing my face away while she went 'cannot see, cannot see!!'. I eventually got over freaking out and started chatting with Dr Chi as he finished up the lipo and was stitching me up.
If I could do it all over again, I'd opt to split the procedures up into 3 days instead, so the max sedation he cld give for the day wld go a longer way :)

Hi All,

Does anyone knows which doctor or clinics I can go for removal of stitches?
I will be going to Dr. Chi in 2 weeks to do epi and lateral, Dr. Chi said stiches can only be removed after 5 days but I will be back in sg by then..
Feeling a little nervous ..
Appreciate anyone can share some info please?

Thanks in advance!
