Since the last 3 times it got "accidently" deleted

Post by mimi86uk » Wed, 09 Jan 2013 5:14 pm

My experience with Dr Pat at Tokai clinic – since last time it got deleted.

I went to see Dr Pat after months of online consultancy. Via email he seemed very interested in giving me the nose I desired, sent many photos , some photo shopped of the after effects I wanted achieved he discussed in in-depth detail how he was going to achieve this for me and I was confident he was the surgeon for me.

During our first consultation, he was incredibly rushed, arms folded, very arrogant and seemed more concerned with getting my money and rushing me out of the room. I showed him the photo shopped pictures again and asked him about the techniques previously discussed and his response was “Are you a surgeon?”

wow this has been long guys! think the last time i visited this was 4-5 years back!

anyway, for those who are interested in Dr Chi, here's my review. I had forehead augmentation with him in Nov 2010. My concern was my backward sloping forehead, so i was looking at fat graft (which was relatively new at that time). Dr Chi advised me that the survival rate is uncertain and that I required multiple touch-ups which meant I need to visit Thailand multiple times. He advised the silicone implant, which I agreed.

He told me the implant would be in a 'block' somewhat like rectangular in shapre and would only augment the central part of the forehead ie it will not cover the ENTIRE forehead (extending to the temples or your brow ridge). I showed him a picture of how I want it more perpendicular to the ground and rounder outlook - he agreed.

I think I paid 18, 000 baht.

I cannot vouch for any other procedures because I did not do it with him (i heard good things about eyes and epi at that time too, though i didn't see any pictures). But I strongly advise AGAINST forehead augmentation because now the implant is clearly evident on my forehead. I can see a rectangular block protruding when I lift my fringe up and it has affected me a lot.

I do have to say though, Dr Chi has an excellent stitching technique (because he specialises in hair transplants) and that scarring (within the scalp) is really not obvious, now it's a faint white line. But what I am unhappy is how he used an obviously oversized implant on me resulting in this ugly forehead.

I also believe for such surgeries one has to be put on GA (i didn't think much about it at that time). I believe I was heavily on LA (ie a heavy dose) because I was extremely groggy after the surgery and I vomitted the whole night. I really thought I wasn't gonna make it.

This is getting long - but just my advice for all going to Dr Chi. He is an extremely friendly and nice doctor. He uses an iMac in his office it is very clean and modern too. But in view of his overrated popularity, and how he 'might be relocating to phuket' I honestly think it is not worth it.

PM me for any questions or even post op pic (but im lazy to upload onto imageshack so PM me your email if interested, i'll try my best to show how bad the implant is). Remember, if this can happen to my forehead, it can always happen to your nose or breast.

Lastly, I wanted to add that post op care was horrible. When I came back to SG and emailed him, he took very long to reply, and reply was short and not very helpful. He said things like 'I want you to massage gently everyday on the area' when it was 6 months post-op. I asked him for a revision (THAT I WOULD PAY) he was very hesitant because i think he did not know what to do. We eventually decide on fat graft to smoothen the lines and the contours of the rectangular implant - he agreed but when i asked for an appointment date to confirm my flight he gave me the whole 'i'll be in phuket' kinda bullshit. So I gave up. Now i'm saving for revision in Korea, alongside other surgeries, and tbh it's not life and death or anything but imagine when the wind blows my hair flies away from my forehead.....i'm very conscious of it now.

Hope that helps.

P/s: the above is a neutral and genuine review of the only procedure i had with dr chi. take it with a pinch of salt and of course decide for yourself.

dear members,

I am keen to perform Facial Threadlift with Dr Prinya. May i know has anyone done it with him and how's the result? I am concerned if the threads are fragile and can break easily? I asked him this qn but there was no answer.

Any opnion is deeply appreciated.

Thanks

Hey takuda, sorry to hear about your experience. User trilogytwist just had a forehead fat graft in South Korea. You can try contacting her for more first hand information.

thank you @lemmiknox

i really dont feel extremely bitter about the surgery/experience/surgeon

just the results haha, considering how long i took to look normal WITH SINEECH

and yes i'll def be checking out fat graft! was reading quite a bit about korean surgeons/clinics too in light of my plan for a few procedures and i still feel like i'd prefer thailand/taiwan. nothing to do with cost - simply the language barrier scares me...........

Thanks Lemmiknox, yea its been a long time.

Thanks for the recommendation, I think last time i was so desperate to have the surgery done I had stars in my eyes, I overlooked so many warning signs with Dr Pat.

Ryansapa - I didn't know that. If I had done before i really would of thought twice about letting this man touch my virgin nose.

I'm going to have this mess fixed because its soo noticeable, the bridge is sooo crooked it looks like Ive been hit in the face and my nose is soo big now. Plus i paid for a tipplasty but he admitted he hadn't actually done anything to the tip, just putting in a L shape implant.

I'm planning on going to Manila to get it fixed since a lot of other surgeons dont do premaxillary implants in Thailand and Dr pat botched that too.
If you know of any surgeons in thailand who do Premaxillary or nasal spine in thailand do let me know

Ill definitely keep you updated.

Dr Somyos does Premaxillary! In fact he was the first doctor to suggest it to me. Just email him, see how it goes, because I found that he gives the most comprehensive list of problems/solutions than any other doctor. Rather than "you need silicon implant and/or tipplasty" he identifies the issues with your nose and offers his solutions.
Here is his response to my consult:
3.Nose
Low apex
Low and slight drooping tip
Acute nasolabial angel,retracted columella base
Slight flaring ala
The solution is Refinement Rhinoplasty which include:
Osteotomy
Tipplasty
Alarplasty
Premaxillar augmentation
Silicon or Glortex implant
The cost is $5800usd include 2 nights.

From what I heard he charges the same for revisions.
