Pregnancy Scan

Post by kiwimum » Mon, 18 Jun 2007 8:48 am

We need to get a pregnancy scan to confirm our dates but do not need an Obstratrician because we are going home soon. Does anyone know if there is a place you can go to without a referal?

Hello...

I don't know of anywhere that just does scans... I guess you could phone up the KK hospital at a push, but have you tried just phoning up one of the private hospitals and seeing if they will fit you in for a one-off checkup/scan? I'm pretty sure where I go would do that for you...

Every time I go, they weigh me, check blood/protein etc levels in urine, blood pressure and the best bit is I get an ultrasound scan. My gynae has the scanning equipment in her office, so it's just a matter of having a chat to her before hopping onto the table.

I imagine you would pay for the session just as I did at the beginning before I took out a package.

Good luck
Amelia
